Hey,
Are there any people who attend Spelman on here?
Im a student over in the UK, the course i''m doing is Law with American studies which involves one year abroad at a North American University and Spelman is on the list. I'm still undecided about going to a HBCU, but Spelman seems to be interesting! So i got some questions about college life in Spelman... or in the US in general. well, how about i write about what it's like over in the UK... and u can tell me how it differs in the US please? That would be of great help!
First years... freshers... we have a freshers week, where there are basically a whole lot of activities and parties e.t.c, with chances to sign up to organisations and stuff. The first year does not count towards your final degree grade. as long as you get over 40% your good.
In terms of accomodation for the first year... they are all single, on campus accomodation... you can choose to have en-suite or not... self-catering
So, can someone give me a feel of what Spelman is like please? Also, are there any British students at Spelman? Also, have most of the girls grown out of the whole "high school" mentality? What is ATL like... is there much diversity?
Sorry for all these questions, its just that i'd hate to be ... number 1, in a college i dont like... number 2) in a college i dont like over across the pond...
Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you!!
