Could I get into Howard University with the following criteria? Freshman year: 1.0 GPA (my father died right before school started) Sophomore year: 2.2465 (my mother re-married, I was depressed) Junior year: 4.375 Senior year: 4.501 Cumulative GPA: 3.01 (weighted) 2.8 (unweighted) ACT: 33 Mock Trial: 4 years (senior year, Captain) French Club: 1 year Debate Team: 1 year Environmental Club: 3 years (senior year, Vice President) Key Club: 3 years (senior year, Secretary) After School Job - 4 years Blank Park Zoo Volunteer - 4 years Black Teen Summit: 4 years NAACP Youth Council - 4 years (senior year, Secretary) Over the summer: Mock Trial Camp and Summer job - both for 4 years I want to major in Sociology and History with a French minor ..But I'm scared I'll get rejected because of my freshman and sophomore year grades. Also, does anyone know if there are scholarships for Mock Trial? Thanks, $0.02

You got a 33 on the ACt. Dayum. I know you can probably get into any school in the U.S. At Hampton(the real Hu) thats a full ride. The 1.0 GPa doesn't matter much because at the end of your four years you had a 3.0 GPA, which is good. You shouldn't have any problems.

i think you got a pretty good chance at getting in. I got accepted with and my gpa wasn't that high (although due to uf giving me a full ride i decided to go there). Just make sure you also have a good essay. Yeah all of those credientials are good but since colleges are getting soo competitive these days, colleges are looking for well rounded ppl. Just keep that in mind, also apply early. That's important.

The 1.0 GPA will not affect you, since you showed progression throughout High School. Your GPA increased each year. Best wishes with your future endeavors.

He doesn't qualify for the Founders scholarship because he does not have a 3.5 or greater.
