ESPN reported yesterday that a deal sending Tracy McGrady to the Houston Rockets for Steve Francis is all but confirmed. Today, the deal has been finalized, but still has yet to be confirmed. If the expansion Charlotte Bobcats pass on the unprotected player or players involved in the proposed trade, then the deal is done. Orlando's Juwan Howard, Tyronn Lue and Reece Gaines, and Houston's Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato could be involved in the trade somehow.
NBA Champion Detroit Pistons starters Ben Wallace and Richard (Rip) Hamilton both declined offers to fill the last two spots on Team USA. ESPN is reporting that Wallace and Hamilton are concerned about security in Athens, Greece.
