Stereotypes about each HBCU Posted on 06-27-2004

I am sure that most of us have heard, or seen, things that will cause you to stereotype people from different colleges. What are the stereotypes that you always hear about each? Do you think they are true? I hear most people from FAMU say that Howard has saditty, stuck up females, but I went to their homecoming and I can see why they come up with that but I wouldn't say it was like that. Most of the females are just a lot different from the females down south, as far as fashion and how they react to dudes approachin em, and the conflict of regions always kicks in. At the same time, I hear Howard say FAMU has a lot of "ghetto" (i don't use that word) ignorant, wild hyped up people...and we have some that stand out but that's not how we all are. I always hear Morehouse and Spelman have the elite black students who have high goals and standards and all. To me, most black schools have this but I think that they do specialize in that. I don't really know much about BCC at all, even though that is supposed to be our rival.

A stereotype is exactly what it is....a stereotype....an idea that a person or group of people use to describe a certain group of people out of ignorance. I never go by stereotypes.

Winston Salem gotta lotta girls out there!! like 30-to-1 so the males can get away with having 4-5 girlfriends! so i guess the stereotype there would be that a man can live very-very well at that school.
