From an Angry White Girl to Black Women
this letter was written in response to an article in Sister 2 Sister:

Dear Jamie: (Sister 2 Sister)
I'm sorry but I would like to challenge some of your Black male readers. I am a White female who is engaged to a Black male-good-looking, educated and loving. I just don't understand a lot of Black female's attitudes about our relationship. My man decided he wanted me because the pickings amongst Black women were slim to none. As he said they were either too fat, too loud, too mean, too argumentative, too needy, too materialistic or carrying too much excess baggage. Before I became engaged, whenever I went out I was constantly approached by Black men, willing to wine and dine me
and give me the world. If Black women are so up in arms about us being with their men, why don't they look at themselves and make somechanges. I am tired of the dirty looks I get and snide remarks when we're out in public. I would like to hear from some Black men about why we are so appealing and coveted by them. Bryant Gumbel just left his wife of 26 years for one of us. Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, the model Tyson Beckford, Montell Williams, Quincy Jones, James Earl Jones, Harry Belafonte, Sydney Poitier, Kofi Anan, Cuba Gooding Jr., Don Cornelius,Berry Gordy, Billy Blanks, Larry Fishburne, Wesley Snipes...I could go on and on. But, right now, I'm a little angry and that is why I wrote this so hurriedly. Don't be mad with us White women because so many of your men want us. Get your acts together and learn from us and we may lead you to treat your men better. If I'm wrong, Black men, let me know.

Well, it all started in the ol' slavery days (where so many of black people's problems originate) and some post slavery ... the white man would **** or incarcerate the black man, thus separating the wife and kids. So without a male of the household the women would be forced to take a make up the void, making her the head/king of the household. The children would watch how "strong" the husbandless mother would become. This would have an effect the sons, but MOSTLY on the daughters since they are not accustomed to so much power. (Hence the phrase black women say a lot, I AM A STRONG BLACK WOMAN) Then as the daughter grows up she becomes strong-willed and meets a black male who is not accustomed to a female being so strong-willed. So he goes to the white women who is not as strong willed.
This is my explanation...any others? Please give me knowledge.
On a side note I wonder if these BI-racial couples hurt the black community?

i personally dont care about bi-racial couples. thats their business - if their in love and happy - more power to them. that's girl who wrote that letter needs to chill out. its not that serious. she wouldnt know black women were giving her **** looks if she wasnt looking at them to notice it.
****...this article is about 2 years old now...I have heard about it and read it several times. I wish I had the copy of what a black man wrote in respose to that defending black women, but he put that white chick in her place...
