NUMBER ONE RULE: DON'T LIVE WITH YOUR FRIENDS NO MATTER WHAT TRUST ME. IT WILL RUIN THE RELATIONSHIP FOREVER.
That's not always true. I know several of my friends who became roommates, and are now still friends. The problem that occurs is that many times these friends think they automatically know each other before they live together, so they don't discuss things out like they would with someone new. The solution is to still discuss everything with your friend before you move in with him or her, whether you think you know them or not (Basically treat them like someone you don't know, ask questions).

seems like that more the females problem than the dudes, b/c i've roomed w/ my best friend since 9th grade, and we got along great (and still do) we know to respect each other's property and privacy...
u got to set rules on the food/snacks!! I made the mistake of telling my roommate that we could share the grocery shopping...i ended up buying the food and she ended up eating the food. Then home girl had the nerve to invite her friends over and left me with nothing but a bottle of water.
