what is more prevalent on campus??? desktops or laptops? im thinkin about getting a laptop, but my mom is scared that i will lose it or get it stolen. are they alot of cases of stolen laptops on campus? :? if there are then ill go ahead and stick wit a desktop. but let a sistah know wuts up
I wanted a laptop too, but unfortunately, I can't pay for it right now. Too bad I didn't get a presidential scholly. But I think that a laptop is more convenient if you can get one.
Well, i left my desktop out here in Cali. So my whole first semester and some of the 2nd, i didn't have a comp at all. I had alot of late nights in the ilab, but i always found a comp to use somewhere, so i made it. Eventually i got me a lil credit card and got a laptop. I haven't heard too many stolen laptop stories. Just lock ya door & u shouldn't have too much of a problem. Not too many folks carry their laptop all over campus (it gets a lil heavy & there are too many hills), so tell your mom to not worry about u "losing" it.
There haven't been any cases of stolen laptops from what I hear...
Personally, I use a laptop because my handwriting ****...lol...I carry it to classes and such, plus I've used it around the area recording rehearsals I've been in and such...plus, with you moving every few months, it'd be more practical to just pack your laptop in its case (I use my backpack as a case) than to find boxes to move your desktop around in every year...
I have a laptop and I normally leave it in my room unless I'm taking it to the library. However, whenever I do take it, I keep it with me at all times. I only heard of one person getting their laptop stolen and that is because he lefted his door open.
that's true i type a lot faster than i write most of the time so i think a laptop will do me just fine. i ust finish talking to my dad and he said he already got me a laptop. he was just waiting a while to tell me so i guess i dont have to worry about that nomore. i just gotta worry about fiding these extra long sheets before they all run out... :lol:

I don't know if they have one in Texas but I get my extra long sheets from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I'm sure its on their website also.

and if you can't find XL sheets by the time you get up here, there's a Target nearby that should definitely have some...
