aiight, so my mom is all in my grill about things we need to buy for my dorm. So when I go on listing things she steady saying "they ain't gon' fit!" So, basically I am going to be staying in Baldwin, a double regular. For those of you who stayed/stay in this type of room, could you help a sista out and kinda describe what you have in your room? Bookcase, tv, hamper, etc.
I thank you in advance

I'm kinda wondering the same thing but my mom is making me buy things that would fit into the tiniest of rooms. Like she didn't get me a hamper, instead we got a collaspable laundry thing that can double as a laundry bag when you go to wash your clothes. Just look for anyway you can to minimize the size of things.
Alright...let me see if I can help you all out alittle. If you are staying in Baldwin, the rooms are kind of big. Bigger than what you would expect. Howard provides a bed of course, a desk with shelves and a dresser. The way the room is organized, you will still have space to move things around. Last year, I bought a footlocker, a hamper, a storage bin, desk accessories, a TV, a cordless phone, my laptop, etc. I still had room left. My friend, who stayed in baldwin had everything. She even lifted her bed for extra space so she put different things under there. I think the best thing is to buy whatever you think you will need now and when you get the chance to see your room and the amount of space...just hit up Walmart or whatever after. Howard should be sending you a list of the closet stores around DC. That is helpful. What kind of things are you planning to buy?

daaaaaaaang, good lookin' sista. You know us cali gurls gotta stick together. So I guess I'll just go out and basically get the stuff you got, thanks, your comments were really helpful.
Well hun, like my girl Clee said, Baldwin has pretty spacious rooms. But i don't think that's a reason to go over board. Overpacking is such a headache, and totally unnecessary in my opinion. I made my mistake freshmen year, and i do plan to learn from it. I left most of my things in storage in dc. I have a tv, fridge, dvd player, a rotating fan, a desk lamp, trunk, a lil plastic rolly bookcase thingy (lol. I don't know the name of those things), printer, and laptop (i keep that with me tho). All the rest are just clothes galore, papers & more papers, books, towels, toilettries, etc. I would say u don't need a hamper, that'll get a in the way. Just get a big duffel bag (that u can fold/roll when backing) or one of those folding laundry baskets (which sell fairly cheap). Don't worry about trying to get everything now. If u were going by plane from Cali, i would suggest it. But since u are driving, u can always stop at a target or something, and get anything else that u may need once u see your room.
