I have always wanted to go to Summer Jam and the year that I stay in cali long enough, I can't go. Too many rules, scare the bejezzus out of me with all those rules, cuz they must be in place for a reason. And no tickets.
I know there are tickets available this year...people definitely aren't as anxious to go as usual because it's at the forum, in the middle of blood territory. I think last year was pretty cool, but every year before that, there was somethin major to go down. Maybe it will be better than we expect because it's inside, and usually it's outside and you know heat already makes people want to fight. The dress code may actually reduce some of what happens because I know you won't be able to identify people as easy, but they are smart enough to just wear different shirts just to go undercover, then take off button ups and all have the same color t's under, I've seen that happen and it had security trippin.
Well nowadays, if you see a group of dudes in white tees, they are most likely gangbangin. Usually you can tell what set they are from because of the hat they have on. If it's crips, you'll see 10-12 dudes all with white tees but all their hats are diff. shades of blue or black, and their shoes and jeans are all blue and black.
Purple is Grape St crips. As stupid as it may sound, it is some projects in Watts that are on Grape st, which was where Cain stomped dude out in Menace II society, and they all wear purple. So they wear purple bandanas, t shirts, etc etc.
Orange is what Hoovers wear. Most Hoovers aren't crips anymore, even though most people think so. If you remember Baby Boy, Melvin had the tattoo that said "Hoover" and most of em don't get along with crips, which is somewhat of an underlying reason to why he didn't get along with Tyrese, but only people who know about that would notice.
That's how stupid Sh*t is....see why I left?
Thats all very interesting...very stupid...but interesting at the least.
Here in Chicago we still have gangs..but no one goes off that colors ****anymore. Police got too hip to the colors so you may see folks in all different kinds of colors. Some folks still go off how you have your hat cocked. Cocked to the right is Folks (GD) and cocked to the left is Stones (BlackStones, BD...etc)
So if you eliminate 5-6 of the basic colors..what do people in Cali wear? Brown, Yellow and Green?

Yeah, I got a lotta homeboys from the Chi and they tell me about how it is. Even tho we both have gangs, they are a lot different from the ones in Chi. I know that L.A. gangs are still based on colors. Just like Chi, the cops and all have got hip to the colors, which is why you don't see em in allll red and blue bandanas like you did back on the old movies.
Well in general, people don't trip on colors quite as hard as they used to. Even worst than what I said before, The Brims who are a gang that is close with bloods wear brown...main street crips wear yellow and blue, rollin 20 long beach crips wear black and gold (thats why snoop always has on black and gold) and Shotgun crips where I live wear green. But most of these gangs don't really wear the colors to that extent, that's just their hood colors.
thats crazy. in jersey theres the no flag (bandanna) rule but colored t shirts. Do the bloods were green in LA 2
I have heard that maybe one or two blood sets wear green but I am not sure. I know that Shotgun crips, the neighborhood I stay in, wear green.
I don't know how it spread to the east coast..I won't speak on that but it is stupid as hell in L.A., so it's even worst when it spreads to other states that already had their own gangsta/**** culture.
Damn with all these color combinations...I guess you can't go back to the hood in your fraternity/sorority colors...
I remember one of my boys tell me how he was back home in Inglewood....and some dude came up to him like "why you got all that red on cuz?" and his reply was "I'm a Kappa..this is my frat shirt"...and dude still tried to get buck with him!
****..I'll tell you...they are good for nothing!
^^ I've actually heard stories like that before. I know bloods who went 2 college and pledged kappa, because "all the other frats where not fit for their lifestyle"
