So So Def Inks Deal with R&B, Hip-Hop Newcomer, Jarvis
Many in the music industry are already familiar with the summer smash, “Radio” sung by sixteen-year-old, Atlanta transplant Jarvis. His single has sparked the interest of all the major music labels since its strategic radio release by Atlanta-based Tricycle in early March.
So So Def has inked a joint venture with Jarvis’s label, Tricycle Records to be distributed by Jive. Under the terms of the agreement, So So Def and Tricycle will release the single “Radio” later this month. Keeping with the blueprint that has been effective in catapulting his other label mates onto the top of the R&B, Hip-Hop scene, Jermaine Dupri will personally accompany and introduce his newest protégé to radio, retail and the media. He will also donned the director’s hat for the “Radio” video shot last Thursday.
Jarvis co-wrote his Tricycle Music debut single, “Radio” with the multi-platinum producer Sean "The Hitmaker" Hall. Hall is famed with songwriting and music production for artists like Pink, Tyrese and 3LW. Jarvis caught the ears of Radio One Atlanta’s on-air talent E4Real and National Mixshow Coordinator Emperor Searcy. Shortly there after, Jarvis caught Tasha Love’s, from Atlanta’s V-103, attention. The support of Tasha Love and the V-103 on-air personalities contributed to breaking “Radio” in Atlanta.
