that's a subtle funny...i think she's referring to the ancient greeks (i think) who sold their children as slaves once upon a time.....(togo or toga?)

Thats a form of harassment and its blatant racism...She could easily go to the hospital about it and from there take the necessary steps of protocol about it. If for some reason, the hospital just dismisses what she said she can get a lawyer and eventuall get paid for it. Things like that arent allowed in the workplace. If it offends just ONE person, the hospital could easily have a lawsuit on their hands..

Well thats the point...There are certain things that should be refrained or being done while in the workplace cause it could easily offend someone and be misinterpreted. To avoid the heart ache and all the confrontations use common sense and just not use or say certain things that may offend just one person. May it be the race card or religion..

black ppl wernt the only slaves that have existed throughout history. Now what blacks in America do you know that had slavemasters draped in togas. The Greeks had slaves of not only the greek culture but those countries inwhich they captured.

^^^^cosigns Egyptians, Nubians, West africans, South Africans, etc. all had slaves B4 Africans being inslaved in America. Now if the note said, " Come as your favorite Civil War personality. If you bring your kids, we'll make them into plantation slaves...oh...don't forget the rope and black face paint." My **** would be livid.

since it being toga i don't think i would have been offended b/c there were slaves before africans were being inslaved in america. we were being inslaved in our own countries and yes we do take things too seriously. like the confederate flag in southern states it's heritage whether ours or not. i just wouldn't have gone to the party if it made me feel uncomfortable, but i can see how she could feel taht way being one of the few black people in the hospital.

i just don't think it's something you put up where everybody can see it. because other people were being enslaved before Africans that makes it right? it just doesn't belong on display like that.
