Hey everyone I'm new to this site. I'm from California and I just got accepted to Grambmbling State and I was wondering what you all think about it (i.e., students, dorms, academics, etc)

great school, teachers want you to learn, will work with you if u'r will 2 give the extra effort, great people, great parties, you just have to kno how to balance it or you WON"T make it. If you a mallrat or a shopaholic don't go unless you got car. nearest mall is about 30-45 minutes away. does anybody know if tasty's is still open?

I'm from cali and just spent a semester at Grambling here is some random advice 1. You aint shyte without a Fee Sheet 2. Stay Away from Dr. Chetty 3. Jones, Wheatley and Pinchback are the Project dorms 4. Watch out for some of the boys from New Orleans they like to shoot guns in front of Jones sometimes 5. Be on the look out for roaches and cafetria servers who lick their fingers while serving you For the most part Grambling is okay, it just takes a minute for it to grow on ya.

Well I have never been there, but I can tell you that my boyfriend despises Grambling. He's transferring here next semester... We are both from Chicago, and according to him its boring as hell, dirty, and negros like to shoot a lot... He complains to me everyday. But on the upside they do get quite a few days off. My bf claims that people down there don't care for "northawnas" and new orleans negros and cali dudes get into it a lot. But ion go there. That is strictly based off what my bf has told me...

Man, dont nobody be shootin up Grambling like that!! Dont be scaring them freshmen. people make it seem like we got random shootings and stuff like that. for the most part, the **** that happens within this area is off of grambling's campus (local towns Ruston and Monroe). I been here since my freshman year, and im a senior now. I can say grambling is a place where you gotta let it grow on you. When i came here i was ready to turn back around. I'm from dc and thats a pretty big city. i couldnt do the whole small **** town thing. But i stayed and i got used to it. Yeah the food might be slightly off at times; and they might have roaches in the cafe, and we might have random dogs on campus, but it is still a good school. people who transfer from this school after their 1st semester dont have the right to complain and talk about grambling cuz they didnt even get it a chance. Some tips when you get to Grambling: 1. if you got a car, bring it. You will need one or a good friend with one. 2. Please try to pre-house so you dont get stuck in Jones, Wheatley, or Pinchback. 3. If you like your space, there are private rooms available. In Jones, Wheatley, and Pinchback. 4. Bring as much entertainment with you that you can bring (e.g. PS2, computer, tv, DVDs, etc.) cuz you will get bored 5. Dont spend all your tigerbucks up the first week of school cuz you dont like the cafe food (cuz you gonna need them for the weekends) 6. If you a new student, do carry your fee sheet everywhere you go the first month of school. Y'all come on to GSU and remember that "Everybody is somebody, with a fee sheet" at Grambling.

i know that this is an old topic but i gotta reply im from chitown and going to grambling at first I was like what the f@ck is this. but I had like 3 _4 close friend from high school who also were there with me at first we complained about the cafe distance from a store the finaid dept and them damn stray dogs and people from N.O but by october we was maxin that food got to know the ghetto cab people and we was warming up to the whole southern culture. The people at Grambling is defintely one of a kind .And they tearing down the projects so Grambling is defintely coming up .try to get an ambassador state fee waiver and a balanced fee sheet and everything else will grow on you. and i dont know about the whole **** thing but astaes do get into it like cali and texas had a lil beef fall04 sem but i say just go you can always transfer .

They do not even have room on campus for girls anymore cuz some dorm got closed down, but they made some kinda deal with apartment complexes i heard. And the school is in the middle of nowhere ... Trees ... everywhere. And yeah, them New Orleans boys are crazy.
