**I CAN'T FIND IT!** Posted on 10-16-2004
AfroPoeticSista

ok, for my Intro to Africana Studies class, i have to find rap lyrics that i feel accurately describe black struggle for class Monday. Not too long ago, someone on HBCU posted an original poem or rap dealing wit his rise from drug dealing to attending a college. Do yall remember who it was, and if u are that person, would you mind if i brought your verse in to class? If not, make this a topic of discussion: WHAT RAP LYRIC OR SONG MOST ACCURATELY DESCRIBES, IN YOUR OPINION, LIFE IN THE 'HOOD?

"Fight the Power," by Public Enemy "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," Gil Scott-Heron "Paint the White House Black," George Clinton and other various artists now that i'm thinking about it, these MIGHT not be what u're looking for....but these r what came to mind...
