ATTENTION ALL HOWARD UNIVERSITY UNDERGRAD & GRAD STUDENT Posted on 11-19-2004
BrwnSuga

First let me start of by saying that I am a senior graduating in May and I really feel like I jipped myself out of the "Black College Experience". So, I have decided to apply to Howard for Grad School. I just wanted people opinions on student life at Howard and why they chose to attend Howard. Also, I am a social work major and I will be pursuing my MSW. So, if you are a MSW student, give me your opinion about the program; classes, professors, course load, etc.

I chose to attend Howard because all of the alumni I met prior to my arrival at the Mecca carried themselves well, spoke well and always had positve things to say about the university. Now with that being said, I dont know what your personal reasons are for wanting to attend HU, but I can assure you that majority of the graduate students dont really have a "life." All of the med students and law students are too wrapped up in academics and although you'll be in the social work program, I doubt that you will really have time to experience the Mecca in all of its entirety due to a rigorous course load. I dont have any information concerning the MSW program, but I do know some people in it. What school do you currently attend?

Thanks for the reply. I currently attend West Chester University. Although I will be in the grad program, I still tend to enjoy my stay at Howard. I plan on being a very active grad student. No since of me going to a HBCU and not experiencing student life.
