I want to know any and everything about CAU!!! The good and bad so just lay it on me! :wink: I want to know about the dorms.....the showers, the vending machines, the room itself, and just anything haha. What is there to do for fun?....from going to parties to having visitors in your room!!! hehe The food?.....is it good or is it bad BE HONEST uUm How does CAU get along with the other surrounding schools? Are CAU cheerleaders really good and are the basketball/football games really fun??? ThE bOyS Are they cuties or what? HaHa Is the majority of people in some type of sorority/fraternity?? Last but not least how is the school of business and their accounting programs? Personally I love CAU. The male freshmen dorms are larger than the female dorms unless you have a single. The showers are decent and it just depends on if you live on a floor where you have a lot nasty people. Personally I have friends at Morehouse, Spelman, and Georgia State and I get along with them, but you do have some ignorant people who think that they are so much better than you because of the school they go to, but oh well you can't get along with everybody. Even though our football and basketball teams aren’t the best in the SIAC the games are hype. I am a business major and the school of business is great. You will have to wear business polo's or dress shirts with kaki's every Tuesday and Thursday. Oh yea you have to pay for the polo and shirt separately which also includes a backpack it will run you for about $75. I don't really know too much about the accounting program. HEY JUSTIN!!!!!!!!! Wow "EVERYTHING" is a big topic. the good....you will become crunk, learn pride (in yourself and race/heritage), and become apart of a family/tradition that is larger than you. The bad...it's a typical black school so dealing with registration and financial aid will give you a headache. The best female dorms ranked are: Pheiffer, Holmes, Bumstead/Ware, Merner (**** last)...they are pretty much a room that you need to make your own. I brought in a very large area rug (19.99 from walmart) that fully changed the atmosphere of it. I also brought nice curtains. The showers are umm....stalls lol. Put on ya shower shoes n hop n then get cha az out...nothing spectacular. I personally don't use the vending machines because i keep a stash of food in my trunk :lol: With you being in the AUC u will be surrounded by events, and don't tell ya momz, but there are shuttles to the clubs (shhhhh!). Visitation is from 6:30-11:30. I love tha food. Sum hate on the caf' but i like it. There's a nice variety of stuff and the staff is very very very friendly. I love it in there. CAU i must say is the most hood of the surrounding schools, so at times fights do break out BUT it's nothing to worry about. The usual drama. Spelman vs CAU......Brawley vs. All of Morehouse (gotta respect my MOB brothers for that haha).The cheerleaders are coo...just regular HBCU cheerleaders...shake their butts, dance, flip, stunt., etc. The football games are crunk but after halftime most of us leave (it's all about the bands). Basketball i dunno to much about cuz i haven't gone to that many games at all. Yes you are surrounded by cute guys, but the really fly ones stay hidden, and i've noticed that a lot of the Morehouse guys are arrogant. You'll be just fine! the ratio is 1 to 1.25 (factor in all the guys that just hang out on campus for the hell of it and you're in heaven!). No the majority of people arent in a sorority/fraternity...if they were it'd be nutts. Yes CAU does have a very healthy Greek life and they are very helpful to the freshmen. The school of business is wassup! It's one of CAU's strongest programs. It is one of the best programs at any HBCU..plus being in ATL gives you resources. You can IM me with anymore questions!
I haven't had any problems here so I love it. From my experience the people at CAU are a little more down to earth than our siblings but it's all nothing but love. lol Um as far as "everything" CAU is getting a lot better and the campus is expanding, so there will be some new things here when you get here. Cheerleaders? One of my buddies cheers and as far as the squad they're sweet, but most of the ladies here are. We have a sisterhood here just like Spelman, just bigger! Um as far as the rivalry, yea it does exsist, but we get along with each other. Like Jaz said we are a little more "hood" well real than the other two, so unlike them you will get jumped on (Ha!HA!) so NEVER EVER TALK BAD ABOUT CAU!! But many of us like the "realness" it's nice to be around people that don't think they're too good to fight for somthing. Everybody has a complaint about something so I can't give you the bad, you'll have to come here and find that for yourself. The Mass Comm, and Business programs are some of the best in the nation (that's really true), and we have some of the best professors (that's true too!). CAU is a good school overall and a lot of great people come out of here, not to mention you get a lot of respect from other people and schools outside the AUC. And of course you will be in one of the most renouned cities in the world "The Black Mecca" Atlanta! So there's always something to do, from clubs, to cultural events, speeches, educational events, you name it its in Atlanta!! Dorm life? From what my sisters said last year, and the dorm brochure Ware/Bumstead have the biggest rooms (that's cuz they have been renovated) but all of the dorms are cool, well except for Merner (it's one of the oldest). But freshmen dorms are well freshmen dorms, we all went through it!!! At sporting events between us and Morehouse (in which we loose a lot) and us and Spelman ( in which they get crushed) the school spirit is great!! CAU is a good school and we get a lot of promotion. Band, protests, speakers, students (TOP MODELS), and various things. As far as I know we are the most exciting school in the AUC and a lot of events go on especially in the Spring!! The Greek life is a big deal here and the Deltas and Omegas run the Yard, but all of them are good. Um that's all I can think of for now, but when something else pops up I'll be sure to let you know.
