The following is the list of all the programs Bush plans to eliminate for 2006. After reading this I really can't see how anyone who isn't wealthy and has a brain could even think to continue to support Bush  It's long but I highlighted some important ones that particulary affect us and our future families. Being from DC this is particularly important because I know a lot of our parents work for the government and as yall can see he wants to cut quite a few of the governent departments.

Whoa whoa, I'm not pro either party, but I am anti Bush. And while these programs may not all be eliminated they do run the risk of being eliminated. And considering how dumb people have been lately, and considering who leads the majority in Congress, I wouldn't doubt that some of these programs actually end up being eliminated especially with
the defecit being as large as it is right now a lot of things are going to have to go. And also on the subject of the programs being useless, thas bs because no matter whether it affects you directly it affects someone. Particularly the potential loss of departments because a lot of people would lose their jobs. I'll lastly I'll blame Bush for whatever I want

Scratch that.
Those are government funded programs, run by government workers, who by in turn, work for the state. Do a little research on what happens when you work for the state and the government ends a gov't program.
As to them being useless, I can find a list of atleast 10-13 different organizations that soak up less money that do the same thing. The Gov't is finally realizing that they just can't pass anything that looks good on paper, like all of these organizations. A majority of these programs have duplicates. And triples.
I say thumbs up on finally getting this done.
Thumbs down on where the money is going.
Oh, and by the way. Why do you expect the gov't to raise money, and when they start everyone cries about how it's hurting them and others? If the gov't needs money there are 2 things to do. (A) Lower spending. (B) Raise taxes.
Regardless of what you, I, or anyone else thinks, it is GOING TO HAPPEN at some point because of Bush's ridiculous spending past.
So, in the entire essence of this post, I'm saying you should be doing this. DO not complain about how the money is being raised, complain about where it is going.
Then, you've got yourself an argument.
When I talk about people losing jobs, I'm talking about the termination of specific departments not programs. And trust me I live in DC and I know tons of people whose parents work for the U.S. government through these departments so I know how it works.
And secondly with this post I'm not "complaining" about how money is being raised, I'm passing on information that I saw that I thought was important for young people, specifically minorities and the nonwealthy, to know and pay attention to. And I shouldn't only be concerned about where the money is going, ie. Bush's bullshyt No Child Left Behind proposition, but also where the money if being taken from because it's just as important. That's like saying be concerned about something only after it's done and not while it's in the process of taking place.
Posts always turn funny when somebody thinks they know every damn thing

Oh Lord, where to start.
If you honestly believe that those departments (who usually have about 4-5 programs under their belt) are literally going to start firing people, then you need to learn the basics of departemental conjecture. True, these people will be out of jobs...for about 2 days. It's like working construction. You work for the contractor (department), he finds you a workspace (departmental program job), and then you go work. You do not work directly for the gov't program. Else you would NOT BE WORKING FOR THE STATE, in which they are.
Yes, a few people (a few), will be without a job due to specilization issues.
The information IS important for us, but not in the twisted Bush-ravaged event you proposed it in. If you want something bad to post about Bush that is new, look at his close alliance with the Game Theory and how it relates to Bush.
Why should you be concerned where the money is coming from as long as it's not in some ridiculous way? This is normal. Every President does it. It is not news to me, nor anyone else who doesn't play into the double sides in politics.
Quote:
Tax Hikes?...that's already happened and lower spending?...
Yes, I know...what's your point?
Quote:
ummm we spend Millions a day(not to mention we are still 500 billion in debt) in the middle east fighting about 2 diff wars....1, i only care about 1...Iraq means nothing to me
Ok....this is basic information.
Quote:
When you give an opinion to where the money is going...such as "thumbs down"....that seems like complaining to me Thunder
WHICH as I stated was where you should be raising doubts.
DO not complain about how the money is being raised, complain about where it is going.
Since you can never tell people who think they know everything anything Imma just say we'll agree to disagree eventhough I dunno what the heeeeell we're disagreeing about lol. The elimination of these programs would cause the people they affect some problems, thas just a fact I dunno what there is to disagree with about that.
And I'm not just trying to find something bad to post about Bush, and even if I were who gives a hoot seeing as I can post whatever I want on here. This was in the news yesterday so I decided to post it as I heard it. And tell me why I shouldn't be concerned about where the money is coming from? Obviously I feel that some of these programs that are in danger of being eliminated are important so thus I will be concerned. And it's not the fact that he's suggesting to eliminate programs period, it's the programs he's considering to be eliminated. And I really don't care about what Clinton did, because that's the past and this is the present and future so that's what I'm concerned about.
There is a fine line between 'thinking you know everything' and 'knowing your topic'.
There is also a fine line between 'fact' and 'misguided information'.
People from all and every parties have been calling for this since late '98 to accomodate for some of the minor skirmishes we were having in other countries without having to tax people or dip out of U.S. funds. That is fact.
The fact that you slapped Bush's name in the middle of it is 'misguided information'.
And after all of the explaining I've been doing, I still don't see how you said the following.
Quote:
it's the programs he's considering to be eliminated
Gov't programs are not bound by monopoly laws, in fact they want the EXACT opposite, which keeps the gov'ts ability to govern over the following programs much easier. What happened was, people created programs which literally duplicated what either another gov't program can do or was doing. They were paying EXTRA (stipulations) for stuff they didn't need to be paying extra for.
It will affect a few people. A very select few who will have to look for a job elsewhere, but atleast 500 people losing their job is much better than making americans pay an increased 4.5% on their taxes, which means banks decrease their interest and increase their loan rates...which means you pay more on your fininacial aid.
What we are disagreeing with are how 'bad' this is. I don't think it's bad at all, it's been needed for quite some time and in the future it will raise more jobs...which is why I would have wanted it in 2000; so we could be reaping benefits right now. You see one thing, and one thing only "People losing jobs, Bush's fault". You have added no other insight to the facts other than that. Then I give all the information I have (which is not all of it, there could be subliminal things which I know nothing about good/bad). Then you go on to claim I am a know it all.
I am not a know it all. I just read alot of what goes on behind and under the scene.
PS If you think Bush was bad, you don't want to know what the reality behind Kerry was.
