man they'd have to pay me a couple mil to attend that school
no way in hell i could just......pay to go there
Same thing here. Talkin' bout they want to be in Division I. If they stayed in the SIAC, instead of losing 1,000,000-0 to schools like Hampton and FAMU, they'll be free from national embarassment and lose 999,999-3 to schools like, say, uh, CAU or Benedict and maybe even Avondale High  .
B.T.W., Mr. Smart Guy is THAT old???

Futility ... and a firing
After landmark 0-28 finish, Savannah St. cans coach
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- Savannah State coach Ed Daniels was fired Thursday, three days after the Tigers completed an 0-28 season as the second winless NCAA Division I team in the past half-century.
The university announced a restructuring of its athletics program that also will eliminate men's tennis and women's bowling. Savannah State will continue to sponsor 15 sports, one more than required to be part of Division I.
In an effort to strengthen the program, the school said it would add a full-time NCAA rules compliance coordinator, a full-time academic/life skills coordinator and an administrative graduate assistant.
With a 49-44 loss to Florida A&M Monday night to finish the season, the Tigers joined Prairie View, which went 0-28 in 1991-92, as the only other Division I team in the last 50 years to endure a winless season.
Southern Mississippi went 0-24 in 1971-72, but that was one of three seasons that it had been stripped of Division I status because the NCAA objected to its weak schedule. The Citadel was 0-17 in 1954-55.
The Tigers won four games last season, but had to forfeit those because of an ineligible player -- Daniels' son. This time, they completed an imperfect season without having to rely on forfeits. The Tigers lost by an average margin of nearly 23 points.
Daniels was a member of Marquette's 1974 team, which lost to North Carolina State 76-64 in the NCAA championship game.
The former coach at Groves High School in Savannah became head coach at Savannah State in 2002 as the school of about 2,500 students moved from Division II to Division I, largely to raise its national profile.
Daniels had nothing disparaging to say about the school Thursday night.
"The school is more important than me or the people who fired me. My wish is just that Savannah State does well," he said when reached at his residence by telephone.
However, he said that whoever replaces him "has to be given a chance to win."
"You've got to have your resources to recruit your Division I-type kids," Daniels said.
He said that would entail a full-time assistant, at least one part-time assistant, scouting and recruiting help.
Daniels said this season he had three players on full scholarship and four on partial scholarships, compared to some Division I teams with 13 players on full scholarship.
He said he had no immediate plans.
"I just plan to take some time off and exhale," Daniels said.
I wanna know what took so long, thats why I couldn't be an AD (I want instant results) I mean damn when you 0-10 that ought to be your sign to start looking at resumes and finding a replacement I think a midseason spark would have given them AT LEAST 1 W...who am I to say I got to A&T and WE SUCK in basketball (there I said it)
