I was wondering what a good undergrad hbcu would be before going to med school to become a doc? Let me know if you know of any good schools. I need one with a slammin band too. Holla back.

First, your education comes before band so you may have to make a sacrifice...I'm starting to realize that in order for me to be a Biology/Pre-med major...I may have to sacrifice band no matter how much I love it...unless I get a scholarship lol
Xavier University of Louisiana (no band)
Howard University (pretty decent band)
Morehouse College (men's college...their band ****)
Spelman College (women's college...no band)
I have thought about Xavier and I think they are a nice school but I live in GA and LA is kinda expensive.
I want to be a Biology/Pre-Med major and I am realizing that between money and good schools I'm going to have to stay in my hometown or get a scholarship.
What do you all know about Tuskeegee? How good of a school is that?
Thanks for all your help,
Chelci
Gotta give it up to my good ole Xavier. Yeah we have a band but not what you're looking for (that is, we have no marching band). But if you wanna go premed, JWC can get you in. You just have to weigh your options and see what's good for you.
Actually, you can almost major in any natural science field as an undergrad and go to medical school. At TU, we dont have pre-med but we do offer biology as a major. A friend of mine graduated in 2002 got accepted into Meharry and Boston College school of Denistry; he was a bio major. Being an Occupational Therapy major, I've taken the classes with bio majors and the classes do prepare u alot for the MCAT.
