So, how do you like the new homepage layout?
Good? Bad? ****?
www.hbcuconnect.com/
It's organized a little better and we'll be able to keep it up to date much more often now. If you want to see anything else on the homepage each time you come to the site, please post it here...
Thanks!
While it helps pays for the site that skyscraper on the left makes the front page look too tight.
There is a whole lot going on there on the front page, in my opinion.
I'm not sure how many users it's pulling in or pushing away.
Have you ever sought out feedback from other webmasters?

That above link is a great place to start.
You have to rate three in order to get yours rated.
I'd say the value of their feedback would be greater to you as sitepoint's membership is comprised primarily of webmasters, designers and coders.
And they are in the business of generating either good feelings about their site and/or money.
But I hope I'm giving you something you already have, in some form.
While we are regular users and most of us probably bypass everything else on HBCUconnect and head straight for the cafe.
So in essence our opinion, while valid, is irrelevant.
It's those who are new to the site that you really need to be concerned about.
For various reasons:
1) Most of the folks here probably aren't gonna buy anything from the site.
2) Most of the folks that visit here are regulars and don't come through the front door. For instance I have http://hbcuconnect.com/cafe saved as my bookmark for HBCUconnect cuz I don't visit any other portion of my site as load times on my pc are long. Please do not put up an interstitial because that would stop me and maybe others from visiting at all.
3) We've formed a relationship with HBCUconnect and those of us who do whatever we do on the site do it cuz we like it. Love it or hate it we are always goona have it on our "daily" agenda.
Edited to Add: Sometime folks read a certain tone of anger and hostility in my posts.
I am not complaining or "hatin" on the site.
I am merely providing my opinion and constructive feedback, as a regular poster.
