I posted this here simply because it will get more looks.
Ok.
I'm interested in restarting the chapter of the NCNW on my campus. On the national site it describes how the mission on the organization is carried out and they offer examples of their programs. But I've reached a crossroad in my research. How are these mission statements carried out on college campuses.
Here's where I need your help HBCU and here's where my questions come in:
1.) Do you have an active chapter on your campus?
2.) If so, what type of activities do they sponsor?
Just throw some stuff out there and thanks for your help.
NCNW is big here at FAMU...I went to one of their meetings, and they tend to hold alotta forums about different issues in the black community...like not too long ago they had a forum about color complexes...lite vs dark skinned, etc...i heard it was very interesting and enlightening....and of course they do their part like everyone else in doing community service....but like i said...they like to hold forums with other organizations, do community service, and they help to sponsor events.
Thank you both.
I went to Stduent Activities today. I was told that the office had already been in contact with Nationals about receiving the necessary forms and whatnot. So the ball is already rolling and in action. But as any HBCU student will know you gotta stayt up on these people.
I'm really excited about this! I have quite a few program ideas that would be beneficial to the campus climate.
Thanks, again.
