Atlanta GA – April 25 2005 – Mainstream “Rap” music on the radio and television lately has become a realm of negativity. 9 out of 10 songs on the charts and radio right now are blatantly disrespectful to women or **** in general. And where has that left those that LOVE hip-hop music? What happened to the actual MUSIC? Where’s the SONG? Have we digressed to sitting around listening to boxing matches and gunfights on the radio?
The name FAM 1st represents more than just a group title; it represents a theme of Brotherhood, Loyalty, and FAMily.
By no means newcomers to ‘beats, rhymes AND real life’, since their emergence in 2004, FAM 1st has definitely been dedicated to breaking new ground with the album “FOR THE FAM”. Presented in it’s original recording, this song-collection is definitely ‘street-hop’ music, but the material doesn’t contain ANY racial slurs, does not focus on **** or beef as a marketing tool, and IS NOT disrespectful to women on any level. Michelle Manley, Music Director at Radio X/ WNSU in Fort Lauderdale FL, after listening to “FOR THE FAM” said this, “FAM 1st is always welcome here at Radio X”. Takeya, a DJ at South Carolina State University’s WSSB, says, “As a woman, a lover of hip-hop music AND a DJ, FAM 1st is a breath of fresh air”.
FAM 1st exploded into prominence with the release of their explosive club single "ALL I NEED" featuring Ebony Evans, and their current hit, the anti-**** song “Rainy Days” from the album "FOR THE FAM".
History has shown us time and time again, every now and then something ‘new’ happens. In our day and time, FAM 1st is a view into the ‘new’ era of hip-hop music. Building their name by simply being themselves, not with gimmicky quirky facades or hype and hoaxes. FAM 1st has earned the respect of their fans and peers because they are men who reveal themselves wholly - imperfections and all - and still represent the streets with POSITIVITY in the face of adversity.
Charting on radio mix-shows across the country and internationally accepted in Cairo-Egypt, Melbourne, Australia, and Ontario-Canada, FAM 1st is not the average "regional" sounding group. The message and music is universal. The stories are all true: the good, the bad, and the ****... all reality based music.
FAM 1st music captures real life moral topics with songs that take us beyond the 'cookie-cutter rap,' away from the senseless beefs and deep inside the corridors of the heart and mind of young urban culture. "We’re just letting people know that you should learn from our past mistakes and the sacrifices of our forefathers. If nobody else ever stands up or cares about the future generation, cool. We do and we always will...this is not a gimmick."
FAM 1st will bring a long awaited passion and positive message to hip-hop music as never before witnessed in this era of Music.

When songs like Candy Shop and U Don't Know Me are in the Billboard top 50, its most indefinitely a fortelling of Armageddon.
