but i dunno if they do something major, stealing, lying, disrepecting me or their mother (stacy dash...or chick that can do a split...or white girl)...they're gonna get it...
*smh* as for everything else you said.... I definitely do agree that physical discipline HAS to exist in the home.....not physical abuse....physical discipline.... Because like you said, we've seen what lack thereof....has done for the children of today....not good....not good at all... And particularly for the generations that are yet to be....they gonna be some lil' BAD @$$es (even worse than be4), we all know this.....unless we rear them like most of us were reared.... However... I don't agree with what you said about you being the only disciplinarian.... I've known many people who were disciplined physically by either both parents...or just their mothers....and they ended up coming out just fine.... I can't remember where I heard this....but there was a mother who allowed that to happen in her home....like, the whole time her children were growing up, she always let the father get 'em when he'd get home.....and somewhere along the line, she felt she was no longer respected by the children....'cause they thought they could get away with a whole lot more around mama....and knew BETTER, when it came to daddy..... She felt they didn't have for her that same respect for a parent that a child is supposed to have....that they had for their father... And I'm not havin' that.... Knowing me, it'll probably be hard to physically discipline my children, lol...but....I know you gotta do what you gotta do.....and okay, maybe my husband can be the primary disciplinarian....hmmm, I don't know....but I want to receive the same respect from them as he receives.... and finally, i'm gonna REALLY need for you to STOP BLAMING EVERY DAMN THING ON ****!! i've refrained from saying this, but damn HALF the stuff you say aren't even because of ****...they're because of your little conservative buddies....or both.... you're hilarious....

I will reprimand my children based on what theyve done wrong. Not just slappin them for no reason, b/c that has a negative affect on children mentally. Most kids who get whoopins a lot are the worst. They are sneaky, because they don't want to get caught. My lil cousin gets beat for every lil thing, and now she's a little bully and sneaky as hell.

oh yeah, and the age i'll stop doing it....will probably be the same age my mom stopped doing it with me & my brother....like 12 or 13.....actually, might've been 11 or 12... by 13 and 14, i believe you gotta start using alternatives....because i think that is the age when many people (especially guys) begin to equate pain differently from when they were younger.... i've heard a lot of people (mostly guys) say that the last time they got a whoopin', it didn't even hurt....or they were determined not to cry & were successful in it....i'm like wth?! LoL...that was NEVER ME!! lol.... i don't even think that was my brother.... but once your kids get to that point (assuming that's really possible)...it's time to move on....

lol nah, you can't just make one big generalization like that... if you can say that, i can say that children who DON'T get whoopin's grow up shootin' up their schools and workplaces......and killin' random people...

I might smack em around and put the fear of God and me in them but I won't beat them. My mom whooped the mess out of me and my brother and we turned out ok. As I got older, I realized it made me into a better person.

Im not sayin Im not goin to whoop them at all. I will, but only when necessary, not all willy nilly. Most of my lil cousins get beat for everything they do, and they are B-A-D. But my mother only whooped me and my brother, when we did something that called for a whooping. My mother had us scared of going to hell. There are alternatives to just straight beatings. My mother used to pinch the hell out my arm, when we were in public and she didn't want to get loud. To tell the truth, that hurt more than gettin whooped. Or she would throw shoes and objects at us. She would make sure not to hit us, but she would scare the hell out of me. AND THATS REAL. I have imprints of shoes all on my room's walls still! Hell Im still scared of my mother

lol wow.... i'm still scared of mine too, lol but my mama never did anything physically 'sidez whoopins......if we said somethin' smart, she might hit our hand every now & then.....but that's about it.... but hey...this gives me an idea for a new thread....

How many of yall had mommas that would holler for you to pick up some clothes or clean up a mess you made then they would stand there and you would ease up, then hurry and run past them so they wouldn't hit you in the back?
