Seeing as we're all discussing how much clothes/shoes we do/don't have... let's take a step closer to a "fashion forum" by discuss not what we own, but who.
a) what designers do you wear?
b) what styles do you sport?
c) what's the style where you're from?
d) what's prevalent at your HBCU?
e) what isn't cool at your HBCU?
I'll start:a) for jeans: Seven of All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Rock and Republic, Yanuk, etc.
for shirts: Banana Republic, Juicy Couture, Lacoste, Express, etc.
shoes: Nike Dunks, Vans, Enzo Angiolini, Chuck Taylors, Coach, etc.b) my style is steadily maturing. Freshman year I used to rock Timbs and fitteds, sophomore year lots of Juicy tops and flats, this year I'm going to be a bit more sophisticated since I'm approaching (and will be once school starts) 20c) New York guys are all into white tees, Enyce/Evisu/RocaWear jeans, and Timbs. Some are a bit more exclusive with Evisu jeans and Bape sneakers. Most girls wear Guess/Gap/Express and the more exclusive girls wear Sevens, Citizens, etc. and heels or Prada shoesd) at Howard some students don't give a damn about fashion so they wear whatever. Some girls will wear any no-namebrand outfit as long as it hoochie-fied enough, other girls will spend thousand on their wardrobes with Prada, Gucci, Chanel, etc. Some guys will wear suits and wingtips everyday, some will wear white tees and jordans, some will wear Bapes and Seven jeans.e) some students make fun of other students for shopping on Georgia Ave... but those girls still get attention in their barely-there outfits. Nike boots are like a running joke around campus... I still don't know what they are...

Lemme just say this: I haven't been on a campus in almost 8 months, but when I was there, no one really cared what muggs had on. Or, at least me anyway.
I wore what I felt like. Could've been a suit one day, jeans the next, or sweat pants with "Grandpa" slippers on. Didn't matter. College isn't a fashion show.
I wear whatever is in my closet. I don't care bout designers. Why am I paying extra for somebody name? If I wrote my name on a T, would u buy it for 35- 50 dollars?

a) what designers do you wear?
I wear what's ever in my budget....if it's cute-and at a reasonable price-i'll buy it....but if you look in my closet you will see ALOT of GUeSS, Rocawear, some Old Navy, Baby Phat (coat) and lil Juciy Couture and on my arm (purses) only Coach and Dooney & Bourke
b) what styles do you sport?
Well my style has changed since i have been in college-my first year i was on chill mode (white tees and Air's)-my sophomore year i was on cute mode..lol wearin cute flats and tops-this year it will probably be like that again, but probably dressing up more.
c) what's the style where you're from?
I hate the style down here(757- Hampton/Newport News/Williamsburg)....it's like the same style it was 2 yrs ago-they are stuck in a time warp down here....but anywhoo-guys are still on the white tees and phatheads (airs) girls-the lastest trend that has been out since like March are what I call "Dorothy" Shoes (the flats with all the sequins all over in different colors-which i happen to rock) alot of girls down here are catching on to it now-but they have been out for a minute-other than that their style is a mess....chicks still wearin tube socks on a hot day (wtf) Guess is and will always be in-so alot of people wear that....i cant really think of anything else to say on that....
d) what's prevalent at your HBCU or college?
The "Dorothy Shoes" are really popular on my campus for the girls.....but since i have such a diverse school-there are so many diifferent styles....u can tell where someone is from by the way they dress.....cuz the natives/richmonders who go to my school-always look a mess....DC boys-u can jus tell, the way they wear their jeans, shoes, and what not
e) what isn't cool at your HBCUor college?
um looking tacky is not cool....if ur outfit looks a mess-trust u will be called out-cuz thats how niccas are on campus...that's about it tho and those damn gold thick glasses those natives wear-those are DEFINATELY not cool :x
-I like to rock any thing thats cute. Most of my jeans now are from H&M, i also like seven, d&g and true religion. I try to stay away from all those designer logo tees tho. however the ones i do have are evisu, armani exhange and guess. but as of now mostly H&M, its more affordable and im tryin to cut back spending. But footwear i have a few prada sneakers, airmax 95s, and i love pointy shoes. i also like accesories
-Im also from NY so the style was pretty much explained lol. But i do think NYers have the best fashion sense compared to otha places i've been. But recently i have been seeing alot of long boho skirts, metallic bags, and shoes, big braided belts, and the mohawk(hairstlye).
- I am an entering freshman at Hampton so i don't know how they dress down there yet. But i'll see soon enough
