...Tips. I need tips, and I need em by the boatload (or whatever you can offer). I'm supposedly going to be movin out soon, and I need to know a few in's and out's about dealin with landlords, leases and all that jazz.

1. Pay rent on time (obviously) some places give you a grace period (around here, it's due the first, but we have til the 5th to pay for it)
2. If you decide to move while in the lease, move to your new place first, then break the old lease, b/c if you try to move in after breaking the lease, your chances for a new place will drop significantly
3. Keep the communication lines open w/ your landlord... lack of communication will put a heavy strain on things (then again, that's with all aspects of life)
4. Do your research, and make sure things are in order
5. Keep copies of everything that you do in terms of lease signings, rent payments, etc...
