Hampton university Im concerned about their dress code policy does anyone know of this I went to the open house thing alreadyand they dicussed a little about it but how strict is it? and why is their a dress code in the first place?

LOL wow u got 8 reviews ma and no replies on this one I heard of Hampton is like that I guess I dont remeber my sister having a dress code in 2000 when she was a freshman I remeber visiting the campus often and her happy as hell in 2002 cuz she could move to some dorm call Twichtell Hall or something like that but neva no dress code are you sure?

well there is a dress code, but i've seen people get around it. it's mainly due to their legacy, they've always been known for the proper, preppy, rich types of people, which isn't necessarily true, but mainly you can't wear halter tops, shirts that show the stomach, hats in buildings, durags or scarves outside of your dorm, pajamas outside of your dorm, you have to dress up for certain events, mainly the Ogden events, stuff like that. but for the shirts, just throw a jacket over it and you'll be fine. but if you thought you were going to class in pj's like the white folks, that's not gonna fly, put on some sweats instead.

They just don't want you to wear clothes that you would wear to the club to class. They basically just want you to look presentable at all times.

****...better believe my **** will be going to class in pj's at UGA next year... :grin:

LOL. It's not that strict from what I hear. They just like the whole business casual/professional type thing. Basically, it can't be too provacative or something.
