God willing, this Sunday evening we are going to get into a very relevant topic for our community. The great prophetess, Lauren Hill sings, “It could all be so simple, but you’d rather make it hard…” How do you assess whether you should continue in your relationship or not? What criterion do you use? Is your marriage really just a mirage that you are using to keep up appearances? Has it degenerated to just a business arrangement? Are you and your partner about to come to blows every time you are in each other’s presence? Are you living under the constant barrage of negative speech from your partner? Have we declared a silent war on each other? How much is our selfishness complicating every aspect of our marriages and relationships? Are you aware of just how many people look to your marriage as their source for encouragement and inspiration? Would getting some marital and relationship counseling help you to work things out? What does your partner need to change in order for you to stay with them and what do you need to change in order for them to stay with you? What are some of the characteristics of a good and a bad relationship in 2009 as we head into 2010? If all of us get divorced then what example are we setting up for future generations? Do we really just need to divorce the foolishness that surrounds our relationships?
