Anthony Dillon Lincoln University -Missouri class of 2005 When God created man he gave us free will to make choices which are good or bad. God is a jealous God; he wants us to believe in him and do right by him even through temptations. For example, I see a watch in a store, but I can't afford it... should I steal it or walk away if I can't afford it. Ayanna Muhammad Grambling State University class of 1999 okay, i'll bite...god is jealous, which is a human trait. this means that god experiences low self-esteem like we do and feels like if you choose someone or something else over him, then... what? he feels less than the ALMIGHTY RULER OF THE UNIVERSE just because i stole a watch or had s*x or... i don't know, shot somebody? well, i know that religion is a touchy subject and a lot of people believe in what they need to believe in (or were told to believe in). but for me, i don't know what's in it for god. i'm sure it is hard for most people to think outside of the box they've been put in, but i can't see myself worshipping a god that has so little to do that he spends every waking hour in a perpetual struggle for attention. the picture you paint is like a child who throws a temper tantrum when you don't give him your undivided attention. i mean, i've been able to mature enough to know that everybody's not going to like me, understand me, trust me, etc. and i'm okay with that. but hey, i'm not god. who am i to say what's most important to him. but then again, who are any of us? Jaunice Moore Wilberforce University class of 2004 Everyone has made a very good point. But God is a jealous God, not in the form of a human trait, but he wants your whole heart, he wants you to serve him with all of you not just 50% of you that is what is defined as God being a jealous God. You are serving God or Satan you can’t be in between. God deserves all of you, he wont take anything less (why should he is God Almighty). As for as the young lady that is lesbian, God made it clear that he made man for woman and woman for man, by changing that we are tampering with his master plan. God gave us the power of choice he could have made us all to be followers of him but he said who so is willing let him come. I dare not judge anyone because we as people have to realize that no sin is greater than the next. What is the difference between being a lesbian and commenting adultery or fornication? In God’s eyes no sin is greater than the next. So what gives us the right to come down on anyone? God said who’s without sin cast the first stone. So let’s focus more on our own personal sins that we comment daily, because we fall short daily. But God’s grace and mercy keeps us. So to that young lady seek the Lord for yourself because you will have to stand before him ALONE. And you won’t have any excuse not to have lived the life that God as planed for you. WILLIAM W. HEMMANS III Florida A&M University class of 1995 Wow... I can say a lot to this. I say test out your own theory in common sense. Go out and be in the middle of the act of murder and look up and ask God to take you. No one cannot be gay and a christian at the same time. Not if active. The world always try to confuse what the world wants to do anyway. Chice, right. Always ends up negative though. Right is right, wrong is wrong, mixtures do not work. I just tell people to keep on living. I know Muslim and Islam do not agree with some statements I see here, what some things are implied and stated here are twists to universal spirituality. I say what a person states and believes they are... Right, choice etc. There is a difference between religion and spiritual. Spiritual approaches people in boldness, respect, tact etc. I call that true love:-) I can now see why there are rare cases where people may not not contact back, but assumptions... This is right and given choice also. We all must live and die. Superstition and spirituality are at the farthest ends of the spectrum. But you know this. Facts and walking under ladders... Sin is the issue that has plagued the world since the fall in the Garden of Eden. It is the very thing that does in fact separate us from God. It brings death. Death to the soul and spirit, and often to the physical body. Spiritual death is what separated us from God. Not knowing Him, and his goodness. Man does have free will to choose. God gave Adam the choice between the blessing and the curse. Adam chose the curse by his own free will. Did God tempt Adam? Not at all. Just because the Grand Canyon has a cliff doesn't mean that God tempts Arizona tourists to jump. Next, Christianity is NOT a religion. I repeat NOT a religion. Many false prophets and teachers have gone out and gave us a system of works and "chores" to do to be a Christian. But that is not why Christ died. In fact, he died for just the opposite. Man cannot do anything to reconcile himself to God. Christ died for all. ALL. ALL. That we might be reconciled to the Father. But other religions, including modern-day pseudo Christianity, have a systematic process of things to do, foods to refrain from, etc. that they cannot live up to. That's why you need Christ. Only he could pay the debt. And only the Spirit of Christ can purify you from sin. Many Christians today even think that the "faith-based initiative" and the "purpose driven life" is going to do something for them and for God but "...by GRACE are you saved through faith; and that NOT of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD; Not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph 2:9 It is a serious shame how prideful people are. Not willing to deny themselves and their own false sense of goodness. For the young lady who is a lesbian: homos*xuality is not condoned in the Bible, sweetie. But Jesus died to make atonement for the sin of the entire world and CLEANSE us from it. If you acknowledge that water and soap can clean hands, then why not let the water and soap clean your hands. Especially, when it is given freely. Christ did not come to condemn. Sin condemns. Jesus saves. But if he paid the debt and you acknowledge that (that's what being a Christian is) then why still hold on to the bills? I love you. And so does Jesus Christ, even unto death so that you might be reconciled to the Father. In essence, your "destiny" is to be reconciled to God, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. You don't have to believe that. But your life depends on it. For the Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, and unsure "Christians," to the atheists, gnostics, etc. There is but one way: Jesus Christ and him crucified. His death is a victory, not a defeat. A victory for ALL who believe. A stumbling block to those who don't. It doesn't matter what you've done. For when he comes to receive us to himself, many prison cells will be bare, many tombs will be emptied. The GOSPEL is and only is: Jesus Christ crucified defeated Satan's work, and his shed blood makes atonement for sin and reconciles us to God. Not because we're good, because we're not.
