After graduating from North Carolina Central University in 2005, Aaron Daye came to Gainesville, Florida by the New York Times as an intern at the Gainesville Sun before being hired as a staff photographer where he became the first African-American staff photographer in the newspaper’s 137-year history. As a photographer, he covered some of the biggest stories in North Central Florida—including University of Florida football legend Tim Tebow's wins and outreach ministry, First Lady Michelle Obama's campaign stops for her husband, President Barack Obama, and Pastor Terry Jones' burning of the Quran demonstration which garnered international headlines. Most notably, while on assignment at the White House, Aaron photographed President George W. Bush doing the "Gator Chomp," catching the attention of the Gator Nation and Florida football fans worldwide.

Previously he worked as a Multimedia Specialist for Santa Fe College and a brand ambassador for the Santa Fe Saints rebrand. His work on the Saints Playbook sports brochure earned him a nationally recognized Gold Paragon award in 2015. He has had photos distributed nationally and published in Sports Illustrated, Ebony Magazine, The New York Times, HOME Magazine, Starbucks, The Gainesville Sun, Undersea Journal, Women's Day Magazine, local restaurants, in various publications and on display for both Santa Fe College, the University of Florida and his alma mater North Carolina Central University.

Currently, he works as a Multimedia Specialist III at the University of Florida Strategic Communications & Marketing team with the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs. He is also the proud owner of both Aaron Daye Photography and Gorillaz Ink, a marketing firm who services regional and local clients along the east coast. He is the newest board member for the Santa Fe College Association of Alumni & Friends, a new member of the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
