Craig Martin is an award winning urban elementary educator with 8 years of service as Principal Intern, Classroom Teacher, and Technology specialist at Nathan Hale and Higginson Lewis Schools. Martin, 2009 Boston Educator of the Year, led transformative movements in boys’ education, family & community engagement, and technology integration. He founded a mentoring program called Brothers of Distinction to partner African American and Hispanic American male youth with mentors from the Greater Boston region. This spring, he published “The African American and Hispanic American Male Teacher Shortage” in Teachers of Color Magazine. Last summer, he presented a workshop, “Plugged In: Student-Centered Technology Integration,” at the First International Seminar on Primary School Education in Beijing China. Mr. Martin is truly passionate about educating, empowering, and elevating his community to greater heights. He earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from Lesley University and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Dillard University.
