Shannon Young is an accomplished, young African American Social Worker from Racine, Wisconsin. Education has always been an important factor in her life. After graduating from high school in 2007, Shannon left her hometown to receive an education that would allow her to succeed. Over the past six years she has grown professionally, academically and socially now ready to face a career mission.

In 2011 Shannon graduated from Lane College in Jackson, TN as a first generation college graduate. She received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology. Shannon proceeded onward to receive a master of social work from Union University in 2013.

Shannon is a member of the NASW, loves to travel and meeting new people. She also enjoy doing volunteer work at various community service agencies and has done volunteer work at numerous orphanages in Kenya, Africa.
