Lena M. Johnson is a native of Bayou Goula, Louisiana and currently a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Lena graduated from Southern University and A & M College with honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology, May 2008. She later earned a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology, May 2011, and a Master of Arts Degree in History, May 2012. She has been a lifetime member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Honor Society since May 2007.

She joined the Southern University Law Center in July 2004 as a Micrographics Tech II and her job title changed to an Administrative Assistant III. In June 2012, Lena was promoted to the position of Recruitment Counselor. Later in March 2014 she became the Coordinator of Admission. In this position, Lena assists in all aspects of the Admission and Recruitment services that are offered by the law center to prospective students. She was voted by the staff as the Law Center’s Employee of the Year in 2006.

Prior to coming to the Law Center, Lena served as a Head Start Family Information System (HSFIS) Specialist for Iberville and West Baton Rouge Parishes Head Start Program. This position allowed her to assist families with their goals and needs, as well as train the family service assistants on a weekly basis on changes and updates that may have occurred with the program software. She was also responsible for troubleshooting and managing confidential records on 565+ head start families at ten (10) different head start centers.
