Most Memorable Moment:
One of my favorite moments since starting at my HBCU was experiencing Freshman Week. From the excitement of campus events to the pride I felt being surrounded by culture and tradition, it was the first time I truly felt the energy of being part of a community that celebrates who I am. I met so many new friends during that week, people who not only share my background and interests but who also inspire me to push myself further. Those friendships have already made my college experience more meaningful, and I know they will continue to grow into lasting connections. Attending an HBCU has also allowed me to expand my horizons both personally and academically. Growing up in a state where the culture and dance styles I love were rarely represented, I now have the opportunity to be in an environment that values those traditions while also challenging me to grow. Being here gives me the chance to pursue my education in a community that supports me and pushes me toward success, while also allowing me to continue dancing in a style that has shaped who I am. Most importantly, being at an HBCU is preparing me to reach my future goals. With my background in ABA and my passion for serving others, I know this experience is giving me the tools to pour back into the community, educate others, and build a meaningful career. Freshman Week reminded me that I belong here, surrounded by people who motivate me, and I am excited to continue growing, learning, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
