Rising third-year political science major, Spanish and Criminology double minor on the pre-law track at Howard University | 2025 Duke Pre-Law Fellow | Future advocate for underrepresented communities who aims to combine law and policy to dismantle systemic inequalities.

Life & Professional Aspirations:

Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, an urban, predominantly minority city, and attending elementary school there, I have seen the negative impacts of the lack of opportunity in urban communities. The rule of law starts affecting urban children during childhood, where I have seen the school-to-prison pipeline in action, as my own peers and family members have ended up in prison because they grew up in an environment where violence is encouraged instead of education. The rule of law in the United States claims to embody the founding principles of life and liberty, but it remains contradictory today as it fails to with systemic racism, disproportionately disadvantaging urban communities and causing disparities in sentencing, which keeps people of color in a cycle of violence, which I will fight against. I also aspire to pour into my family and give back to my parents, who have sacrificed so much for the sake of my education and success.
