My name is Desirae Rice I am a highly motivated and dedicated student with a strong commitment to leadership, community service, and helping others. I have demonstrated leadership through athletics, fundraising, youth organizations, tutoring, and advocacy, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earning multiple academic honors and certifications. My experiences as a Youth Health Promoter, peer math tutor, athlete, fundraiser, and community volunteer have strengthened my communication, teamwork, organization, and advocacy skills. With a strong interest in psychology, mental health, and clinical counseling, I plan to pursue a career in psychiatry or school psychology to use my education and experiences to support the mental health and personal growth of individuals and communities.
Current Whereabouts:
Flag football, working out, community service, mental health awareness, volunteering, exploring new opportunities, and spending time with family and friends. I'm excited to experience HBCU life and meet people who enjoy giving back to their communities.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My life goal is to become a compassionate psychiatrist who helps improve mental health outcomes in underserved communities. I aspire to combine medicine, advocacy, and community service to make quality mental health care more accessible while mentoring the next generation of leaders. Personally, I hope to build a life centered on faith, purpose, lifelong learning, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
