The AGB Foundation is passionate about education, and our College Scholarships program offers financial tools to help young people on their path to a better life.
The AGB Foundation believes that providing access to higher education in Chicago’s underserved neighborhoods is a key to rebuilding those communities. Our College Scholarships program rewards deserving students from areas of our city that are economically disadvantaged and racially segregated. Since 2008, we have awarded tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving young people of color. The awards have been used for post-secondary educational expenses at four-year colleges and universities and at two-year colleges. High school seniors may apply for one of the following scholarships: * Nia Griffin Scholarship Eligible students must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher and have diverse learning needs. * John H. Griffin, III Scholarship Eligible students must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA and qualify for free and reduced lunch. * Geneva Stringer Scholarship Eligible students must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA and be a 1st generation college student. * Najia Griffin Scholarship Eligible students must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA and be a student athlete in high school. * Jibril Griffin Scholarship Eligible students must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA and have shown an interest in technology or engineering. * Supplemental Scholarship Eligible students must have been a previous AGB Foundation intern or scholarship recipient currently enrolled in a university with a minimum of 2.75 cumulative GPA. | |
