I am at Hampton right now, and the first thing I can tell you is to not listen to what you hear outsiders say... they know absolutely nothing about it considering they don't go here... Now, on to the description: Yes, we do have curfew, but it's really not that big of a deal... everyone still has fun and most parties start at like 10 so on weekends you have until 1... if you have a cool dorm director maybe later, but you didn't hear that from me... We don't have coed dorms or visitation, but this is cool to... unless you are **** as hell.. if this is the case, just get a big brother or sister and use his house or something. Academics are straight... gotta study, but that's everywhere... I'm in on full scholarship, so I have to study a little bit harder... we have to have a gpa of over 3.3... Cafe food is good every Sunday, and on most days... don't get me wrong, sometimes it's horrible... but we have Chick Fil A, zERO'S, Burger King, Lotta Java... you'll be aight... I'm a cheerleader, so I'm having lots of fun at games.... but honestly, it's more fun in the crowd.... Hampton is the place to be right now... We whooped Norfolk at every angle this past Saturday... band, cheerleaders, dancers, football... we were just... BETTER Anything else?

I am at Hampton right now as well. And I definantely agree, there are a lot of people who hate and have negative thing to say about HU. So if you really want to know, your best bet is to ask people who actually attend Hampton. As stated, the curfew is not that bad considering the city of Hampton shuts down after 1 o'clock anyways. But I know for special events like Midnight Madness our curfew was extended until 1:30. Also we don't have curfew for homecoming and if our class acts right, we will be getting off soon anyways. I was reading the University 101 book (lol) and surprisingly it said DuBois Hall was Co-ed, but I have never seen any males in there. And I thought upperclassmen did have visitation, but I am only a freshman so I don't know about that as of now. Whether on scholarship or not, it is imporatant to maintain a high GPA and recieve good grades. I try not to eat in the Caf because although some of the food is good, it can also make you sick. But we have an array of restaurants you are free to choose from and the $50 HU puts on our Gourmet Accounts isn't bad either. The games are fun too! I think HU is an all around good school, but since there isn't much to do, it is all of what you make it. If you just sit in your room complaining that their is nothing to do, I can assure you you will not have a good time. But if you get involved, go out and meet people, and do everything in moderation, you will have a good time. Hope this helps.
