i cosign w/ everything R-Tisitc said... it's mainly the females that just knock a song before they give it a chance, but they'll switch over in a second... but i feel what Tippy says though...that's mainly the case... they gotta hear the song a few times before feelin it... i'm guilty of it myself... but i can see both sides of the equation...

Exactly, she took the words right out of my mouth. Like you said about "Drop It Like It's Hot", the first time it came out I was like YO that joint is wack and didnt even give the song a chance but once I start actually listening to it and everything, I was like I'm liking this song. So yea like Tiph said the song has to grow on you.

I see what y'all are sayin. Maybe I just look at things different since I'm a producer and I'm always an advocate of new music and new artists. Personally, after doin so much in music and basically just studyin how people act (including myself), when a song "grows on you" it's basically just the song subconsciously brainwashin itself in you to like it. That's how it usually goes. There are many songs that people would never like if they just heard it once, but after hearin it over n over, and especially from seein other people like it, they tend to like it even tho they can't help it. This usually doesn't happen to me because I can tell from the first listen if I like a song or not, but sometimes if a song just has a completely new sound, I will have to listen to it a few times before I start to feel it. But most of the time, I like a song the most the first few times I hear it, then it's just like whatever to me and I get tired of it. I just don't see how people, especially in Florida, like some of the (garbage ****) songs they like so much, but then hate other songs that anybody else from any other state would seem to like.

nah actually im the opposite of alot of black people, especially the girls...like for me i love to hear artists when they are new and kinda undiscovered, because to me thats when they perform at their very best, because they are actually TRYING to get people to listen to their music without all the commercialism and trying to get out the hottest video and such.......but back on topic...like for me i get turned off of artists when they get quite famous because to me they dont seem special anymore...and thats why i love going to underground events and concerts because with music i like to get EDUCATED instead of brainwashed....so i love new music, even if its bad, its just EXCITING to me, and yes i sound like a nerd lol lol like before alicia keys blew up i used to LOVE her, now i cant stand her, go figure....same with john legend, kanye west....i dont know, its just weird to me....the only people who i still LOVE who are quite popular are the long time people who are highly groundbreaking and legendary like prince, michael jackson, jay-z.....oh yeah small plug for this cat MARTIN LUTHER AT www.rebelsoulmusic.com go to his live concerts much better than his cds, this man is the truth, almost like jimi hendrix, forget about lenny kravtiz, its about MARTIN! oh yeah rtistic--how'd ya learn how to produce??
