Not to down where anybody is from but I visited Detroit once and I swear it was the most depressing large city I've been to and I've been to a lot. It's the only place I ever went to that I said I would never go to again. I just don't see how the city has been allowed to become what it has.

umm no...the city is run by black people...maybe a couple of white people...the mayor is BLACK, the city council is BLACK, the chief of police is BLACK, the head of DPS (detroit public schools) is BLACK...white people dont run detroit...detroit is one of the most segreagated if not the most segregated big city in the nation...84% of the city population is black...youll be hard pressed to find a single white person right in the city unless youre in palmer woods, indian village (rich neighborhoods), or poor sections of the city (cass corridor)...oh and they come to the city for the lions, tigers, and red wings games...otherwise its majority until you cross that 8 mile boundary...its amazing the difference you see...but detroit aint all that bad...its actually makin a comeback...thats one of the reasons they picked the superbowl to be there this year...
