I take the kids to a Harvest Fest. They give out candy and have rides for the kids. It's pretty fun! Some kids dress up and others don't. Even the adults dress up.
My elementary school had a Harvest Fest for Halloween and that joint was tiiiiiiiight!
Rides, candy and some kids would come dressed in costumes. I miss my younger days
All we had was Halloween when I was coming up. I didn't hear of alternate celebrations until a few years ago. Now, it's pretty much just another day on the calendar. I don't celebrate Halloween.

Yeah we were deprived, the only alternate to trick or treating for us was bag snatching. lolNah...no "Halloween" for them neither, only alternate celebrations.
Halloween is like the only holiday I actually celebrate. Yes I dress up in costumes and go to parties, fun stuff like that. But I also like the pagan spiritual celebrations that are at the heart of Samhain, as the pagans call Oct. 31. On some years I'll go meditate or tag along with my friends who do pagan rituals. It's all very heart warming, mystical, and solemn.

Excuse the frown marks in my forehead, but please feel free to enlighten me if you can. How in the world can you put pagan and spiritual in the same sentence. It doesn't go together neither does it make sense. Now, keep in mind that I'm not trying to down talk what you're doing, but uh, um, give me a break here...help me to understand, because right now I'm clueless.

Then as I got older and started learning and hearing more and more about Halloween and it's origins, it made me lose interest. Plus being saved, I have no reason to celebrate it.
At Gospel Mission Temple (MY CHURCH), we celebrate Hallelujah Night. We make it a community night, (meaning it's open to the public.) We have games and prizes for people of all ages. This year me and another sister played musical chairs with the kids. I was the runner-up. Anyways, when you come you get two tickets. One is for your meal and the other is for the hayrack ride. You don't have to pay for anything because everything is free. Then each kid gets a bag of candy to take with them when they leave. Each year it gets better and this year was the biggest and best year of all.
My question to the people that celebrate Halloween, do you know what your celebrating??? Do you know the origins of this Holiday that people love so much? If you don't, than maybe between now and next year you'll do some research on it and see for yourself if it's something you or your children should be celebrating.
