who is gonna have the biggest impact on Hip Hop in the next 10-15 years?
Kanye West or OutKast?
me and my boyfriend was gettin intense with this convo...i say Kanye cuz he was so confident within himself that even if his album didn't sell people was still gonna know his name
gotta say kanye. not only is he a hot rapper but the #1 producer right now. Plus he's still fresh, outkast been out for years and theres talks they may break up
I'm gonna have to go with Kanye. Kayne is saying some ole prolific ish right now. His impact is already gonna reach out to future generations as more about the things he said, then the beats that they heard.
I hope both Kanye and Outkast arent still rappin after 15 years....lol..old ****....
but if I were to choose one, Ima go wit Outkast. As big of a fan of Kanye's that I am, Im choosing Outkast cause they are always and CONTINUALLY reinventing their music. It nevers stay the same. Thats why I believe they are always having great success....I dont see that with Kanye, I think he is gonna keep his music the same. Aint nuthin wrong with that, but I just dont think it will carry him for that many years, unlike how Outkast's music will...

plus...nothin' against him...but I think Kanye's a phase...
everyone's always quick 2 go wit tha current fads in music....Eminem was a phase....50 was a phase...Musiq Soulchild was even a phase...as was Alicia Keys (they were all & still are great artists...but still phases...ya'll know what i mean)....& people still like her, but aren't sweatin' her NEARLY as much as they were 4 a min....
& as for OutKast....i haven't always been into their music like that, but one thing i can say about this particular group is that they are the few who have actually consistently held the attention of the masses over time....

Kanye is a music fad right now (and imo isn't the best producer right now) and by next year he'll be struggling to get his shine on the mic again like he was before.
Outkast on the other hand...Their 10 years is now. People who weren't that much into them before are buying copies of their old albums and bumping like their new.
with that said there will be someone other than those 2 who's name will ring bells in the years to come.

that's all that music is...its one big fad...the 50's and 60's was the doo-wop and the electric guitar
70's and 80's...heavy metal new age and synthesizers
90's and 21st...rippin beats from back in the day...but i do understand what you getting at...but music is like clothes...its forever changing...so they may have been phases...but they have to learn how to change with each phase if they want to continue to be strong in the industry
