QUESTION. HOW DID U END UP AT UR CURRENT SCHOOL... DID U ALWAYS WANT TO GO THERE OR WAS IT BY CIRCUMSTANCES...
ME BEFORE LAST JANUARY... I NEVER EVER CONSIDERED AN HBCU... AS FAR AS I WAS CONCERNED. I WAS GOING TO BE A UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI FOOTBALL PLAYER AND GO TO SCHOOL THERE. EITHER THERE OR POTENTIALLY CLEMSON. I HAD COMMITTED TO USM BEFORE THAT. WELL SH!T FELL APART AND THE COACH WHO RECRUITED ME GOT FIRED... IT WAS EITHER DELTA STATE.. A FEW POTENTIAL MORE SMALL PWC'S OR A JUNIOR COLLEGE... WELL A FEW WEEKS LATER JACKSON STATE CALLED AND OFFERED ME A FULL SCHOLARSHIP.... MY DAD WENT TO JACKSON STATE SO I LOOKED INTO EM.. TOOK A RECRUIT TRIP AND IT WAS OK. MISSISSIPPI STATE CALLED LIKE A WEEK BEFORE SIGNING DAY WAS LIKE WHY DON'T YOU WAIT ONE WEEK AFTER SIGNING DAY AND IF WE DO NOT SIGN THIS OTHER PLAYER, WE ARE GOING TO SIGN YOU. I WAS LIKE THAT IS TOO RISKY.. BECAUSE IF I WAIT AND THEY DON;T SIGN ME.. I AM STUCK LIKE CHUCK.... SO I WENT AHEAD AND SIGNED WITH JSU...
(I STILL WISH I WAS AT UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISS)... I LIKE DIVERSITY..
I always wanted to go 2 an HBCU. I actually wanted 2 go to hampton or clark first. Then i decided that i needed to apply closer to home so morgan and del st. were next and clark was outta the question. Del st got back first and once i visited i was hooked. By the time i heard from morgan i had already commited 2 DSU
we'll i always wanted to go to a hbcu, since i couldn't go to a black high school back in jerzee...i went on a college tour the end of my junior year of high school and toured over 20 hbcu's, but still didn't know which one to go to...i asked my family for advice and alot of my dad's side of the family went to A&T, so during the tour I checked this school out and was like this is the place i wanna be(strong academics, friendly environment, ect)...and i have had no regrets from that point on...
well some friends and co workers had told me about the school but i didnt really consider it until a guy i was crushing on told me about it (before that i never considered a school outside of georgia ) so i looked into it and the people i talked to about we very friendly, it just seemed like a good atmosphere, i also liked the location location....it made me even more interested
so i turned down a full scholarship to a pwi and moved to daytona beach...needless to say i am over my crush (nucca didnt even come to cookman)
i always wanted to go to an HBCU...i was pressed on going to North Carolina A&T...but when i got in to Hampton and they offered me a full army scholarship i was like hell yea i know where im going...plus i like the campus better than NC A&T
They tricked me.....
Sike naw....
I've always wanted to live in the A and I always wanted to go to a school that was really prestigous and hard to get into...and thats what Agnes is....
And they tricked me into thinking that all the girls there were really nice and the food was really good and the professors where all your friends...hahahahaha...right....
I always knew I wanted to go to an HBCU...So in like 8th or 9th grade I had my eyes on Howard, Hampton, FAMU, Clark Atlanta, Virginia State, Virginia Union, BCC, and Southern. Well...in like 11th grade they all narrowed down to Howard, Hampton, FAMU, and Clark Atlanta. Everybody except Howard offered me money....But when i researched Howard and when I went to visit Howard on a college tour and stayed a weekend there, I fell in love wih the school...My mom and pops was mad that I turned down 'free money' but its all good..
started looking at schools too late so my choices were few. got accepted into Morehouse,Howard and FAMU but didn't receive much financial aid because everything got in too late so i went to Lincoln (because it was a full ride) hoping to boost my GPA and then get outta there but that broke apart when they went on strike halfway through the first semester. one community college later i decided to go back and play basketball and received a scholarship to a pwi close to home.
I got into Michigan State but the school is sooo big and I knew I wouldn't be comfortable...Bama State accepted me right after that and I figured with the student body size it would be a good fit...it WAS cheap until this year....I might transfer next year...Any one of ya'll schools tuition and board under $11,500 holla back at me
My tuition and board is over 30,000.....but my fasfa said my fams epc is only $17 so I figure thats not too much in loans....(like my family contributes to my education...HA) ....
