Dating Up Posted on 09-17-2007

Keeping it simple... Ladies, do you find yourself dating up in age? Is there a minimum or "ceiling" for a guys age in order for you to date them?

Ummm.I am 21 turning 22 n November..but anywhoo.. I find tht guys my age aren't mature enough for me... so right now I am feeling guys who have either graduated and or working on a graduate degree... But my cut off age is 26... I don't go backward only forward :-)

PRAISE THE LORD!!! I realized that I didn't really answer the question... Seeing as I just turned 34 today...YEAH!!! TO ME!!! I would say that the oldest I would date (or my ceiling) would be 38. I might even do 39, but I couldn't do 40 because that's another age bracket.

I have dated younger and that was the worst thing! I have always been too mature for my age so I wasn't having it! They couldn't handle me and I definitely couldn't stand those babies! So I date much older now! Not walking on canes or riding in a scooter or anything but I like seasoned men. That doesn't guarantee that they will act their age, but I prefer to give them a try rather than those irresponsible, immature babies.

Correction! Men and women are here to want eachother. Man to woman, woman to man. Sorry guys, my mistake!

Men are smarter daters!? You are a perfect example of an immature man. If you thought yourself as a mature young man than that last paragraph wouldn't been said.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I'm very mature...I have dated older and each time, I was mentally, emotionally, physically and monetarily able to keep up. Men dont have to chase p*ssy....women outnumber us and there is clearly a man shortage. Women come to us! I just wish females would stop lying to themselves. YOU ARE NOT MORE MATURE THAN MEN. And even if you were, men would still dominate because women are emotional creatures and complicate relationships with foolishness. But thats another topic...

Men don't have to chase because there are women that ain't to proud to beg. I still say that women do mature faster then men, and the man just has to catch up. Yes we are emotional and we cry and forgive you for the most horrible things. But we were made to be that way. But that's another thread...

wow...well ignorin the obvious stereotypes about women(shame on u Truth )...ill give my two cents..I like datin up BUT ONLY b/c older men have money to waste on me(dnt realli care how that sounds...but THATS another thread)...but if im realli lookin for a relationship i stick with sum1 my age b/c we jus tend to have more in common (classes, interests, music). Also if your older then me...say 20..im wondering in the back of my mind(even if we're havin a gr8 time and everythin is cool) why sum 20 yr old is tryna bag a 17 yr old...wats ur malfunction??

LIES, LIES, LIES! Women have been brainwashed by radio, tv, talkshows, soap operas and other crap, and think that men of their same age are not mature enough. Maybe the problem is that some women just dont take the time to realize what they have right in front of them. I am in my mid-twenties...and please believe, I am VERY much capable of handling and satisfying a woman who is also in her mid-twenties. The same can be said for thousands of other men.

I wouldn't call it lies. More of an objective truth. Males do mature(biologically) slower. If anything, (I believe) males have been brainwashed to believe that the perfect woman is 5'5 wit long hair, phat ****, & the "coke bottle" shape. And it is not about a woman needing to realize what she has in front of her. It's about not settling. If I like a guy with blue hair, that doesn't mean I'm being immature if I don't date guys with brown hair. It just means that's what I like. The same applies to men. If the guy likes, the "model type" then he is not being immature by turning a girl down who doesn't fit his type.

^^^EXACTLY!!!! Hell, I'm not going to SETTLE...if I have my preferences, then thats me! I have yet to meet someone who said "Ill date whoever comes my way"....HELL No!!!! Nah I've met some guys my age who are just not on my level. However, it would be unfair to say that ALL guys my age are not on my level! But typically, the guys where I live are just not where I'm at emotionally, spiritually, and physically...TYPICALLY...I kept running into the SAME types of guys my age, so I made a choice to date up, and I can't say that I never dealt with the same issues with guys older than me, because I definitely have. It's all a matter of preference!!!!
