PRAISE THE LORD!!! IT TURNS OUT THAT "THE **** ARE MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD!!!" Women Send **** to Myanmar in Protest Friday, October 19, 2007 BANGKOK, Thailand - Women in several countries have begun sending their **** to Myanmar embassies in a culturally insulting gesture of protest against the recent **** crackdown there, a campaign supporter said Friday. "It's an extremely strong message in Burmese and in all Southeast Asian culture," said Liz Hilton, who supports an activist group that launched the "**** for Peace" drive earlier this week. The group, Lanna Action for Burma, says the country's superstitious generals, especially junta leader Gen. Than Shwe, also believe that contact with women's underwear saps them of power. To widespread international condemnation, the military in Myanmar, also known as Burma, crushed mass anti-regime demonstrations recently and continues to hunt down and imprison those who took part. Hilton said women in Thailand, Australia, Singapore, England and other European countries have started sending or delivering their underwear to Myanmar missions following informal coordination among activist organizations and individuals. "You can post, deliver or fling your **** at the closest Burmese Embassy any day from today. Send early, send often!" the Lanna Action for Burma Web site urges. "So far we have had no response from Burmese officials," Hilton said. --- On the Net: http://lannaactionforumburma.blogspot.com

Two Women Shot While Holding Their Babies Thursday, January 17th, 2008 Indianapolis, Indiana was rocked to its core by the senseless killings of two women, a toddler and a baby who were shot multiple times while being held in their mother's arms. Police are searching for two men who were seen running from the home. The victims were Charlii Yarrell, 4 months; Charlii's mother, Andrea Yarrell, 24; Jordan Hunt, 23 months; and Jordan's mother, Gina Hunt, 24. The two women and the toddler died at the scene. Four-month-old Charlii Yarrell was taken to Methodist Hospital with several gun shot wounds. She died a few hours later. Police initially investigated a burglary at a vacant house late Monday night. A short time later they were called again about gunshots being fired across the street from the vacant house. Police entered the home through a broken window and found the bodies. A set of electronic scales, a safe, a pound marijuana and several long guns were found in the house, according to police. Two handguns were later found in the street near the home. The story has received national press coverage and more than 80 investigators have been assigned to the case. The murders are a top priority for every uniformed law enforcement officer in Indianapolis. "Whoever is responsible for this, we're going to track you down like dogs," Marion County Sheriff Frank Anderson said. "We're not going to stop until we find you and put you in a cage where you belong."

Coffee break for Starbucks' 135,000 baristas Coffee chain to close all 7,100 stores for employee training. Dunkin' Donuts offers 99 cent promotion. Starbucks lovers will have to look elsewhere for their caffeine fixes from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Warning to Starbucks junkies who usually get a fix on their way home from work: You're out of luck on Tuesday. Starbucks, which last week announced 600 layoffs, plans to temporarily close its 7,100 U.S. stores on Tuesday for three hours of employee training. The coffee chain said the in-store training program which will begin at 5:30 p.m. local time, would foster enthusiasm in its 135,000 U.S. employees and improve the quality of drinks made by Starbucks baristas. "We believe that this is a bold demonstration of our commitment to our core and a reaffirmation of our coffee leadership," said chief executive Howard Schultz in a statement. Stores that normally stay open beyond 8:30 p.m. will resume service after the training session is finished. But for those who still need their afternoon dose of caffeine, there is a cheap alternative. Dunkin' Donuts - "to ensure that no coffee lover is denied a delicious espresso-based beverage" - announced that it will offer small lattes, cappuccinos or espresso drinks for a promotional price of 99 cents on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Starbucks (SBUX, Fortune 500) has seen rising competition from privately-held Dunkin' Donuts and McDonalds (MCD, Fortune 500) recently, and welcomed founder Schultz back as CEO in January after a lackluster performance by the company in the latter half of 2007.

Florida Blackout Linked To Substation FailureTurkey Point Generators Affected By The Problem, Says CBS4's Michael Williams Metrorail, Metrmover Idled By Failure, But Service Has Been Restored Turkey Point Generators Affected By The Problem MIAMI (CBS4) ― CBS4 has learned that a substation equipment failure may have tripped two FPL power generator units Tuesday afternoon, creating a domino effect in the South Florida power grid which caused a massive **** along the east coast, from the Daytona Beach area into Monroe County. CBS4's Michael Williams says FPL sources told him the failure was likely the reason for what has become a massive power ****, but FPL is still trying to determining the cause of the failure. FPL sources told Williams that the substation in the Miami area caused two of the 5 generator units at the Turkey Point Power plant south of Miami to 'trip', placing them out of service. The Turkey Point plant has both gas-fired and nuclear powered generators, bit it was not immediately known which of the generators were tripped. CBS4 News partner CNN reports that 8 power generation stations operated by FPL across Florida have been affected by the failure. Florida Power & Light is reporting **** throughout South Florida, including Miami, Doral, Westchester, and Pembroke Pines into Palm Beach County. There were reports of power **** as far away as Daytona Beach. The **** hit shortly after 1 p.m., as South Florida was experiencing heavy rain, and at first appeared to be a local issue in South Florida. However, calls from across the state south of Orlando started complaining of power problems, and the scope of the problem quickly widened. Jaime Hernandez, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade department of Emergency Management, said the county has partially activated it's emergency operations center. Hernandez said no injuries havce been reported. The Miami-Dade Police Department said it is hearing that FPL is experiencing a massive transmission failure from Daytona Beach to Miami. The Florida Highway Patrol office in Doral, west of Miami, learned of the problem the way most people did, when the lights went out. Spokesman Lt. Pat Santangelo said the regional office does have telephone service, and troopers are still on patrol. Santangelo warned that many traffic lights were darkened by the ****, and urged drivers to treat them as 4-way stops to prevent accidents. Troopers were reporting widespread signal failures. The port of Miami, one of the largest cruise ship ports in the world, was without power, but most cruise ships are not in port on Tuesday. The power problems apparently had an effect on Miami-Dade's Metrorail system, with trains stalled at the Civic Center station, and the downtown MetroMover system has been idled. Some service had been restored by 2:25 pm. No **** were reported at South Florida airports. Commander Charles Hurley of the Miami-Dade Schools Police said children will be held in their classrooms until the power situation is stabilized. Miami-Dade schools said there will be no school bus service provided Tuesday afternoon due to the power problems and the lack of traffic signals, which makes transportation by school bus dangerous for children. Some Broward County schools were without power, but a similar lockdown is not in effect there. City of Miami Fire Rescue said nearly half a million people in the city of Miami have been left without power. CNN reporter Jeanne Meserve, reporting from Washington, said the Department of Homeland Security reports there is no concern of **** in regards to the Florida ****.
