Congratulations. Bring enough cash to put on a SmartTrip card to find some work/internships. Also, bring much patience, and be prepared to get involved. We are going through some minor turbulence and you have got to be even more focused than usual. If you really want to enjoy your time at HU, don't be a wallflower !
Most of all, have fun and be dilligent. Keep your goal in mind.
i did. it's easy. go to the budget meetings on sundays at 6pm. might be a different time but it will be on sundays. they throw out potential topics and you go for it.
I majoring in Journalism, do you get to write for the Hilltop??
Your freshmen year if you take Fundamentals of Journalism, then you will be required to write a certain amount of articles. Publishing articles is also a requirement for other journalism/communication courses also.
I wrote for the Hilltop my Sophomore year and I joined the staff as a Copy Editor my Junior year. Its a very good way to begin your career as a journalist and they also keep you abreast of the summer internships.
