It's been done before and I'm putting this Poll in the yard because it will get more traffic as oppsosed to putting it in other forums.. Which School would you choose? North Carolina A&T or North Carolina Central?? Why Would A&T have the advantage over Central or vice versa?? I'm GOING to one of the schools next semester and I'm not sure whcih but I'll be at NCCU's homecoming this weekend...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: It all depends on what you wish to major in as to which school you want to go to. But I wouldn't base my opinion soley on Homecoming, since its is kind of a blow out comparison between the two... At any rate here it goes again: North Carolina Central University is an exellent school for nursing and and kind of Political field. The nursing program works in conjunction with Duke Universtiy Medical Center as well as UNC Chapel Hill Medical Center, therefore giving its students a bigger advantage than many white schools can boast, due to the fact that it sends students to two of the best hospitals in THE WORLD. In addition, the law school is reported to be one of the best Law Schools not just for black women, but women in general, in addition to being one of the best black Law Schools (personally I think its better than Howard's, but that could just be me). Central also boasts the only Sports Medicine department out of all black schools. Of course, as with most schools, your arts department is excellent, but I think that it stands out more than most. Central isn't situatied in the best area in Durham, but if it holds your major and you're willing to let the meager surroundings slide, then I think you'll enjoy yourself there. North Carolina A&T State University has a legacy for being the top Engineering school amongst HBCUs. When companies look for black engineers (and engineers in general) they think A&T. It is also one of the biggest engineering schools with 8 different desciplines and a plethora of different technology fields. We have all the facilites that we need to conduct testing and the like and the campus is constantly expanding to accomplish this. We also hold a number of partnerships with companies like Boeing, Ford Motor Company, and NASA. A&T also has an excellent Animal Science Department. The partnership that they have with N.C. State University allows us to be able to network around the state with other students and professors, therefore having access to more data as well as other facilities. In addition, the Liberal Arts Schools is execllent, however, I don't think that they have the resources that North Carolina Central has, due to the fact that Central partners up with Duke University on many occasions. The surroundings here are better than most HBCUs (I think that the only school that could come close is Hampton). There are neighborhoods around that are terribly dangerous, and we are situated a couple blocks from downtown Greensboro. Both schools offer a great social life, since there are so many schools around, especially other HBCUs. Both schools are in close proximity (1 hour to 1.5 hour drive at the most but only 30 min, is many cases) to Winston Salem State University, Livingstone University, Johnson C. Smith University, St. Augustine College, Shaw University, Bennett College, Duke Unversity, North Carolina State University, UNC Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University as well as many other colleges and universities that I've left out. There... I've said enough... And I'll see you at Homecoming (I'll be the only dude with an A&T letterman jacket on  )
