well okay...here we go my career goal is to get me D.D.S. (be a dentist) if i go to howard then it will be 6 years b/c they have an accelerated program. if i go to hampton then it would be 8 years b/c i'd have to do undergrad in like chem or bio i have visited both...and then i actually did visit hampton durin homecoming but i could really see myself @ hampton moreso than @ howard i didn't like the fact that it was RIGHT in the city like that prolli b/c i have never lived nowhere like that and it would be a big change for me i don't mind the rules @ hampton i personally think that they could do me some good b/c i would be da one to get there and get unfocused real quick and i don't kno about ya'll but my curfew would be somewhat the same if i was livin @ home so....it wouldn't be all that different....but yeh that is basically it i think i'm leanin more towards hampton but i feel like more ppl from hampton are tellin me things like i know so much about hampton i mean i got friends that go there and everything but i haven't really heard much from da howard ppl or anythin like that so i kinda don't got nothin to go off of as far as the whole "college experience" goes....

what do u mean by a dress code? which school has a dress code? this is my first time ever hearing of it for hampton or howard
I thought everyone knew about the dress code at HU (Hampton)...lol. Well it certainly is talked about a lot. It is true we do have a dress code, which really isn't a big deal...I mean if you are complaining about it then I really don't know what kind of clothes you were wearing when you were at home. We have curfew until homecoming and we don't have co-ed visitation. But if I were a prospective student of either school...well at any school, I would suggest that you do your research...visit the campus on a regular day and speak with faculty, students, adminstrators, etc. Also do some research on your field of study then make your decision. When choosing a college you can't really listen to everything people say because everyone has different opinions.

What I do now?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Lol

i don't go to either one but it sounds like you already have your mind made up. if you feel like a school's policies would do you good, then why not go with that school? it sounds like the amount of time you'd have to spend at hampton compared to howard is the only thing that really stands out between them. i personally think that if you're not used to a city, and you pretty much know you have the potential to go buckwild, then you should go with hampton. they're both excellent schools so wherever you go you'll get a quality education, it's just a matter of the life outside the classroom you want to lead.

It all depends on you! I had the same question last year. I definetly reccomend visiting each university and just talking to diffrent people on the campus so you can get a feel for where you feel comfortable. Hampton was my first choice until I went to visit. Although Hampton has a beautiful campus it was too quiet and secluded for me. It really all depends on what your looking for. I'm very happy that I chose to go to Howard. If you ask me the visit to the school will make the decision for you.
