I don't know about scary, but the monster from Tales from the Crypt made me think that all monsters would crack jokes. He was a little freaky looking, but funny as hell. It's those nice shows like Lamb Chop's Sing Along that used to freak me out. I can't get that never ending song out of my head* :?
