Thats mad funny to me. Last summer I spent alot of time havin serious debates over Bill Cosby's comments and O' Reilly has never gotten my attention. That whole station is full of right wingers. Of course I think Cosby's comments was trash. In fact I wrote a paper on that. Why would you come with so many hard comments instead of encouragement. Then he refers to african americans as "them" and "they". I could get on him for a long time but i rather not right now. Thru it all....That picture is still FUNNY...

Thats their problem they talk and tear down. What happened to buildin up and showin encouragement? And for the whites that speak about the african american race thats not their job to tear down. They can encourage but DONT TEAR DOWN. And the real truth in all of this is that their carryin all these stereotypes which got many african americans where they are now. Kids hear all of it and they take it to heart alot of them. As if mainstream hiphop (which everybody approves of) dont harbor enough of them.

How about you recognize the good things we as African-Americans have done. I guarantee you the good outways the bad, you just have bought into the image that media protrays. You aren't even around bad **** most of the time if you think about it. I'm around a lot of niccas in college trying to do something with themselves and a good family. Every race has they're bad apples.
Megan, don't make assumptions about "He dosent recognize anything that African-Americans have done"..and don't label me as some uncle tom either..In fact that's all I do when I have heated arguments with people, I'm 19 years old and I have argued with the white kiddies at school for 10+ YEARS....Media?....Megan, I have seen it with my own two eyes...my first roomate robbed and his cousins robbed me of everything I had the first 2 weeks of school!...even Rickey Smiley came here for homecoming and made a comment about "Thugs in College.."..it's not a media thing Megan, it's the truth....All I do is see people fighting, smoking weed, getting ****,getting arrested....Your parents are pulling the loans out for you to do that!...Black people just can't face the truth and will never accept it...we will never get out this rut because....eh I'll just take a quote from Dr. Frances Cress Welsing from her Essence Magazine Interview in May 1987 Essence: How can Blacks build a strong centered and functional future? Welsing: If blacks do not want white supremacy to exsist, we are going to have to impose some new rules and regulations on ourselves....You cannot struggle and development and simultaneously live among trash. We must clean up our Neighborhoods. We must revolutionize ourselves. We have to understand why whites are doing what they're doing Whether white people are consciously or subconsciously aware of it, they are behaving in a manner to ensure white genetic survival. We must know this truth. ANd the truth is the first step toward real strength. Us Blacks Can't face and Handle the truth....when will it change?..Until then..have fun watching blacks on the 5 Oclock news being arrested for Stupid Sh*t I agree w/ what your sayin. Its right along the lines of what Cosby was sayin, but no. 1- how does this help me, bein a african american (not the only either) thats already aware of this. no. 2- Why dont these dudes go to places where these problems really occur like cabrini green or somethin. Where people dont even have Tv's. Instead Cosby goes to hampton where people have obviously overcome obstacles and stereotypes that the african american races faces. He should go to the people who he is referrin to and then tell them whats up. Until then say nothin. no. 3- Whats hard words w/ out encouragement? When you tear down you are spose to follow up by buildin up. The truth of the situation is that most of the people that talk about how bad many black folk are doin are the ones that ONLY talk and never act on their words. Of course we could do alot better in many different areas but for this entire race to just flourish it takes alot more than a slap in the mouth. The obstacles that we face are real. And th reason why some of the youth is in the condition that they are is because thats all they know. I'm not tryn to make any excuses for anybody but some things are just easier said then done. Words alone cant help. Especially when their from a different race.
