Nut on the toes might work too....
As the owner of some pretty, soft **** feet....try some really thick lotion, or foot specific lotion (Mary Kay has really good stuff) and put them on your dogs at night with some white cotton socks...just get in the habit of doing that and it'll soften them puppies right up...
