Hi everyone I have decided that I will attend HU in the fall. I was hoping to get to know a few people and learn more about life at the real HU. It would be great to know both the bad and the good. What will the dorms be like? If you recieved a scholarship do you live in a honors dorm? What is the biology program like? I would like to know everything. I would appreciate any help that anyone could possible give. You can post or e-mail me personally. I would love to find a friend who I could get to know prior to arriving to campus in August.
Holla @ ya girl
I mean you don't really KNOW who anyone is REALLY. Mom or not I just need to hear the good, the bad, and the ****, so I know what I am walking into. I don't like surprises especially bad ones. Since College Mom is presenting information, that I haven't heard yet, I say keep informing.
uhh whateva im just sayin that whose mama would have time or even want to come on a teenager forum and talk to teenagers? i just don't see it. but uhh i don't care its whateva
To College Mom,
I would like to Thank You and your daughters for the information that you have provided. It has been very helpful to me because I have not been able to visit the campus because I currently live in Germany. If you or you daughters have an information on scholarships specially dealing with Music or any scholarship information that would be most helpful to me because I can't seem to find many scholarships on the HU website.
To Nahd and everyone else,
Thank You for the encouragement. I will try to remain positive and open minded throughout this whole process. I did not mean to cause any confusion I was just being honest about how my mama says that she feels sometimes when she calls to find out more information from some of these schools.
I am apologize if I offended anybody or caused and confusion.
Thanks Everybody,
Tiphani
NadH,
I guess ur right what am I supposed to experience if it all been told to me? Oh well I am still waiting to hear 4rm Howard. Since it is coming a long weekend I probably won't hear 4rm them until Tuesday.
First of all: Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all of you!
This is NOT a TEENAGE message board. If it is then you better tell a LOT of folks the news. Surely some of you are well over 19 years old. The HBCUCONNECT specifically INVITES parents to this site. Take a minute to explore the entire site to validate this.
Why the salt? I am not negative as you described but thats ok...
Everybody is entitled to their input, opinions and suspicions that is the mystery of the internet.
You seem intent to "pick" at less than 10% of what I have to say such as "the Bootywall". EVERYBODY who goes/went to HU knows about this. This WALL is smack dab in the center of HU, the QUAD, so why are you so offended by my mentioning this landmark? Their are numerous articles contained in the school newspaper about this high traffic area. YOU CAN'T MISS IT. It is not that big of a deal.
Lastly, you seem to be bothered with me so simply skip my post and save your nerves. I will not allow you to stear me or my HU students to other message boards. Does HBCUCONNECT want you to do that?
Please, stop misleading and confusing these HU students. You are **** wrong about the parents moving kids in. Good grief..THINK. How is it that over 4 THOUSAND freshmen move ALLLLL their stuff from the airport, train, bus station and more????
I am not on this thread for you. That is a waste of my time. I will continue HELPING HBCU students on HBCUCONNECT. Why you want to stop that baffles me!
Have you EVER THOUGHT...hmmm, maybe, just maybe, this lady, this mom, just MIGHT work within the HBCU community, a campus or MORE????? Or, you know she just might be someone in the know? What a horrible disservice you and others do when you distract from the original spirit of this thread. Again, I see NO concrete INFORMATION to guide these HU students...
Everyone, have a safe, fun and blessed Memorial Day Holiday!
Kuntri Girl:
You are MOST welcome.
I do not know about Music Scholarships that are available to you at this time. I will suggest that you contact your band Director and ask him/her if they could put in a personal phone call to the HU band Director on your behalf.
Sometimes the un-published funds/scholarships are only a phone call away.
Good Luck and keep asking questions!
I have just spent time on that "student review" site that was suggested.
I am at a lost for words as for why one on HBCUCONNECT would point any student to that site. The scathing and "dated" "reviews" about HU simply broke my heart. While some good points were noted the overwhelming text does not serve HU well.
What were you thinking? Did you take the time and READ the posts about HU? If you truly love HU and do not want to turn these Freshman off then it makes little to no sense to do what you carelessly did in sending them to that site.
Find the love. Set aside your focus on me. Try and repair the harm that you may have done to HU folks.
At a lost...
